No, no, no, not a '72. It was a totally different body style which came in 1970. This body style was made from 1967 thru 1968 then a slight modification in 1969.
This one appears to be a 1968 Rally Sport that someone added Z28 stripes to it. Also on this one, when the headlights came on the covers retracted so that the
headlight beams actually lit up the road in front of the car.

Taz -- thanks for your very detailed correction!.... I would claim ignorance which would be very true, but actually I looked at the 72 and the 68 camero models and picked the 68 based on the classic body style that I wanted.Β The mistake was merely me later not remembering what I had done!Β Duh!!
Anyway, I hope you liked the car despite the mislabeling!

Yep, the main difference between the 67 and 68 was the vent windows on the 67; the 69 has a ridge coming off of the top of the front fenders onto the doors (there was a similar ridge on the rear as well) and was actually manufactured for about one and a half years.

I literally grew up around cars like this, since I was born in 1968. My dad had one of these, and a mid 60's vintage Mustang, so the retro look of the current generation Mustang, Camaro and Charger/Challenger are very pleasing to me.
