Description Finally finished this project Started it about a year ago [link] and gave up because of problems with the wheels (bloody wire wheels!), but plucked up the courage to get back stuck into it again today.

With some well needed assistance i can now confirm it is a DB4 GT! Thanks double-time Ben.

Enjoy.

British Racing Green FTW!!!

Finaly finished and it looks bloddy Stunning!!

The wheels came out great, and I know how hard it is to make those wires, Good Effort

But there is a thing that bothers me though, such a perfectionist I am, The front grille mesh, maybe add some perspective to the mesh ? Meh its just a "Minor Thing"

Splendid!

Fantastic work donbenni!

The wire wheels must've taken so long - but they do look brilliant.

Sorry for being pedantic, but I think it's actually a DB5?

Hmm, well they're incredibly similar looking. I'm pretty sure it's not a DB5 as it looks much like all the AM DB6s i've seen.. you're right it's hard to tell though!

And yeah the wheels took a while Thanks.

You need to look at the windowline and also the boot lid as those are the main differences.

The windowline on the DB6 has an almost Hoffmeister kink while the DB5 has a single flowing line (like your toon).

It's no biggy, I'm the only person to have spotted it so you have nothing to worry about!

You're totally right, well spotted! I tried comparing the two cars and missed that area. Bit obvious really lol.

This is getting tedious in my opinion now, but I stumbled across your base pic and I can't let the title of this deviation be wrong for eternity!

The car is an Aston Martin DB4 GT (i.e. last of the line DB4 series) which then became the DB5 after some small modifications.

I promise I will shut the duck up about this now!

In my "Garage Of Unfinishedness" i showed this car as a DB4, but was never that sure. I tend to hunt the web for a couple of hours every month looking for really cool pictures and just store them in a folder - i didn't name this one. Has caused much confusion! I'll change it, again, thanks for FINALLY clarifying!

Yeah, wired wheels are hell. But these look damn good, my friend!! After much contemplation, I have decided that I like this one over the silver one. They're VERY close though.... Great work, and I've been hoping you'd finish this since I saw in in the 'unfinished garage.' Keep it up, mate.

The details are great, but I just love the overall effect of this work. Has that retro-classical feel to it.
And the Aston's such a beauty!

Plenty of challenges in this one. Nice work on those wheels. While I'm sure it matches your references, it seems odd that you can't see any hint of a steering wheel, seats or dashboard.

Hole... Eee... Shit.

Okay, I might be biased because a) I love Aston Martins and b) I love British racing green, but, just, wow.
I do have to say that the scoop on the bonnet is a little niggly, simply because at a glance it seems to be solid black, you have to look closely to notice the details.

I like the wheels, particularly. Very complicated part of the car, but it looks great.

I'll blame the dark scoop on your monitor settings... It looks ok on mine, but i guess it will look slightly different on other people's screens.

Glad you like it.
