One thing though is that I thought K-Three and Mira would have kids normally because there're both biologically similar?....but I could be wrong and there is nothing wrong with how u have it written! I love every single up and down you've taken us through.

Mira is a hybrid turtle and Mazar. In real life genetics this would mean she's sterile. Crossbreeds like mules (horse and donkey offspring) and ligers ( lion and tiger offspring) are sterile. I try to get as close to real life science when dealing with scientific facts. I often do research to make sure what I propose is really possible. Thus they can't have kids naturally.
