Interesting question
It was loud, but I don't think it was deafening.
The thud of the water from each wave did evoke a spine chill as you could also see the visual result from that sound.

Amazing work! The green of the sea is just gorgeous, and the waves are simply awesome in their power. I've lived through several typhoons and have a deep respect for the power of nature.

THAT is a very impressive photo. The others may be more dramatic, but I think this one shows the power the best (of course, that could be the mariner in me also). Thank goodness for wave breakers and jetties.
