Description
Did another writing session on Deadeye's reboot the other day, the first one in a while. And it went really well; I even got some lore done. ^^

As usual, here's a lineup of some of the most recent relevant characters. The dynamic of the town of Paloma has changed a lot since the original comic...I've actually worked on it and tried to develop it like a real community. And most of its leaders are here in this pic.

Chief Gutierrez: N/A | 44 y/o
Jackie's father and the chief of police. He's technically not a new character, he existed as a concept since I first came up with Jackie (originally, she took his place as the town's 'guardian', if you remember). But now I have a different vision for Jackie's character, so I'm letting her dad be in the story and take that authoritative role, while she gets a chance to become someone a little more unique.

Jackie: Ehecatl, the wind | 18 y/o
A young community leader, who spends most of her time working directly with the citizens of Paloma and organizing them to help each other through the apocalypse. Her personality is mostly the same as before-- she's still serious and goal-oriented, and a little harsh. But with this new version of her character it's much more obvious through the things she says that she cares deeply for the people around her, even if it doesn't show on her face.
She and her dad have very different ideas on how to take care of the town, and end up coming into conflict throughout the story.

Mayor Borrero: Acatl, the reed | 53 y/o
It's been years and years since I've even attempted to draw this guy...in the original version of Deadeye he was kind of a throwaway character, whose only purpose was to be annoying and useless and then either die, or become a puppet for the antagonists.
That hasn't changed much...but I've learned to care about him a little more recently (especially while designing his costume, which came out pretty nice~) and use him as a genuine comic relief character.

Vanesa: N/A | 28 y/o
One of Paloma's police officers, and Jackie's (secret) right hand lady. She's always been one of the more backgroundy side characters, but I like her because she's cute and fun. ^^ She's kind of the glue that holds this group of people together.

Emilio: Cozcacuauhtli, the vulture | 29 y/o
Vanesa's boyfriend (I finally just went and made them a couple) and one of the biggest comic relief characters besides Deadeye himself. ^^' He's just so tired and not ready for anything, and he hates being a superhero...he'd rather just go home and lie on the floor and wait to die.
Unfortunately, this isn't an option for him, because sharing a daysign with Naomi makes him a target for the antagonists. So he's dragged into near-MC status whether he likes it or not. :9
But really, he's much braver and kinder than he realizes, and I plan to use his character arc to help him learn that. ^^
