I WROTE AN ENDING!!

...I finally wrote an ending yesterday! One that actually fits thematically with the story!
Of course, it's not exactly a happy ending...I got the 'superpowered Deadeye' and epic final battle I wanted, but the way he gets to that point is more sad than heroic. :/ But it makes so much sense...I kinda don't want to reject it. ^^

Anyway, here's the latest batch of character designs. Only four this time, since Doc's hat and Azu's hair took up so much room...

Dr. Avila: Atl, the Water | 36 y/o
He's...evil. Just despicable. He's cruel, uncompromising, manipulative...this latest version of the character is probably the least sympathetic one I've ever written.
I'm almost a little upset about that...I originally designed him to be Deadeye's 'nemesis'; someone he could have a lot of fun-yet-antagonistic interactions with. But now he's so awful to Deadeye (especially near the end) it's kind of hard to have that...
...Well, I still have the entire middle of the story to work with. Dark humor is one of the pillars of this concept; I'm sure I'll figure it out. ^^

Azucena: Xochitl, the Flower | 18 y/o
My beautiful angel goddess child~. Like Doc's, her design has only changed a little bit since the original (because she was born perfect~).
...Yes, I love her. ❤ And I'm looking forward to writing her yet another long and intricate friendship with Deadeye. ^^
I initially designed her to be his love interest (so creative, right) but she always ended up being more like his right-hand lady, and that part of her character gets stronger with every iteration. So I have a feeling this version of Azucena is going to be the one I love the most.

Helga: Tochtli, the Rabbit | 25 y/o
The first of the out-of-towner duo. ^^ A very competitive little grad student with a bit of a Napoleon complex. I planned for her to die pretty early on in the story, but then I got to that part of the story and ended up writing it into a happy ending for everyone...so maybe she won't die at all. I've gotten kind of attached to her and the other members of the counter-force...I wouldn't mind if they all lived in the end.

Yemi: Mazatl, the Deer | 27 y/o
The second of the out-of-towner duo. ^^ Another grad student with a gentler personality. Her and Helga's designs were drafted a long time ago, but I never actually drew them out until now...they're the only ones who match~
