LOL. Sadly, I've developed a severe case of artist's eye on this one, and cannot seem to notice anything now but all the many mistakes/flaws. Thank you for looking past all that and finding the cuteness buried within. ^-^ As I was drawing this, I thought to myself, "How come I don't draw more Rarity?" Then I got to her mane/tail. I remembered pretty quick. LOL. It actually turned out pretty good, but man do I dislike drawing/coloring it! xP

The drawing, I do kind of enjoy. It's the coloring. Doing the graduated shading (at least the way I wind up doing it) just takes foreeevvvvveeeeerrrr. LOL.

I think Molestia's been creeping around Ponyville. All the foals are locking down their respective forts.

Also, yes. The versatility of Rarity's tail and its curliness has long been a fascination of mine, and indeed, the scientific community as a whole. Numerous studies have been implemented to better understand the inner workings of this "appendage" if you will, yet none have since shed any light on the physics of its engineering nor the possibility of its replication for either civilian, industrial, or military use.
