Thanks! I usually play around only with curves or brightness/contrast (because you can't have a good kitty pose and lighting at the same time. It's either one or the other, a fact of kitty life; period). Otherwise I usually discard my pictures or submit them as scraps if unredeemable. Incidentally my kittens had very bright blue eyes that got darker as they grew older (refer to my top favourites) and here the cat is in direct sunlight (that luckily) brings this colour to the fore.
So after all, sometimes you can have both pose and lighting (have your cake and eat it, that is)...
