Comission for She asked me to draw Lapidot (Lapis and Peridot) and Octascratch (Octavia and Vinyl) first meeting sitting and chatting; during that chatting Peridot started talking about how it was "impossible" for earth creatures to have magic or powers and having Lapis making water figures of the two ponies. What happened next is up to your imagination

Yeah I get it but...not everything has to be canon in order for someone to imagine a diferent idea 
In short, it's like creating a different "universe" where you can add almost whatever you want, having proof from the show to be "almost canon" or something completely out of your sleeve.
Of course, I only ship characters that have had an interaction or have chemistry (most of the time) even if means them being gay or stuff like that, I don't know
