A 0.1mm fine line pen
And my trusty putty eraser.

Oh I also used a light source in this picture, or at least I tried to. Did it work? If not... someone please explain to me what the heck using a a light source means. I mean I lightened up areas where the light hit, but the direction meant that the body had to basically be flatly coloured as no shadows were cast on the body. Is this right? Or do I do cast shadows on the body regardless?

Brrr...the structure just...feels wrong.
Probably because it reminds me of an old MLP cartoon that I'd love to see burned at the stake...

G1 just...I dunno. It's too close to reality.
Considering the first actual 'generation' of MLP I liked was G5, and that's the most recent one, I just can't hold this in the same light.
The cartoon-y styling of FiM is what I like the most about the cartoon; it really feels like a cartoon. All the shapes are nice and round, lots of rounded edges, and it all feels like it's a whole different species, rather than something you'd find on Earth.
It's literally 'out of this world', unlike this art style.
