I like how you even mimic'd the "couch gag" logo panels of each Sunday strip. (And chubby cat-like Twi' is kinda adorable hehe)
Y'know, some may say that Garfield "isn't funny," but he still has his moments, I say. My favorite Garfield strip, is one from the 1980s before I was born (I used to collect Garfield comic strip collection books when I was young) where he said his favorite movie was "Old Yeller," because he loves a movie with a "happy ending."

The title panel and the first panel next to it are actually known as "throwaway panels". Most cartoonists use it as their label and to begin the story with dialogue. The only problem with the latter is if it's not used, then it can ruin the flow of the story. That's why they may just have a drawing that could help open the story, but if eliminated, won't harm the overall effect.
"Throwaway panels" are used mostly for newspaper formatting. If the strip with the throwaways can be used, then the throwaway is included. If not, then the throwaways are eliminated.

I'm sorta kicking myself for adding Twifield's wings, because I thought this comic would be a great way to parody twilight's time in canterlot with celestia before going to ponyville. Spike would be Odie
