Description Are you a fan of 'Star Trek - Voyager' ?. If so, have you ever heard of the Aeroshuttle ?? . . . .if not, it's because it was never actually used in the show.

The Aeroshuttle was a concept based no doubt on the Captain's Yacht built into the Galaxy Class starships such as the Enterprise-D underneath the saucer section of in the middle of the saucer.

It had been intended to be used as a new version of the Runabouts commonly seen used in 'Deep Space Nine', but the reason for why the Aeroshuttle was never seen in use is because at one point, the film 'Star Trek - Insurrection' was being made which features a Captain's Yacht being deployed from underneath the middle of the saucer section of the Enterprise-E, and the makers of the film did not want Voyager to steal their thunder using a similar launching of a craft hidden away in the hull of the ship . . . . . kill joys

Shown above is what the ship would have looked like, an updated version of DS9's Runabouts. On the top right is the Aeroshuttle when joined with Voyager when not in use.

The image shown below is the ship being launched, and the smaller pictures are of the Captain's Yacht of the Enterprise-E from 'Insurrection'.

But all thou ultimately unused, footage posted on YouTube shows how it would have been launched. Here's the clip, think of it as a deleted scene if you will www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhZ6D-…

They stopped them from having the aeroshuttle so they could have one forgettable shot in a shitty movie? Β Damn them!

I never did recall "them" having any intelligence.Β  Remember the old Star Trek adage: 'Beam me up Scotty!Β  There's no intelligent life here."

I don't see why there was a problem. Other than the separation, they're two totally different ships.

I think they was thinking "hey, if Voyager has this Aeroshuttle deployed below the saucer of Voyager, then the Enterprise-E will seem like a complete copycat with the Captain's Yacht ! . . . we can't allow that, tell Voyagers makers not to do that, cheeky gits trying to steel our thunder!".

Typical and unbelievable !!.

Now I really wish they used the Aeroshuttle.

I wish they did too, but I think the Delta Flyer would have ended up being a pointless idea if they did use the Aeroshuttle.
