Description It's me doing my best James Dean!

Another one from the session that includes the previous two. Didn't do much to this at all, dropped the saturation back a little to make it fit in with the others is all. It's quite a good representation of me as a person I think. I don't know, you decide.

Comments and/or suggestions as always are greatly appreciated.

Take care,

Rob.

very well done,i like the melancholy in it.i think technique is important but what the so called "normal" spectators sees it's mostly on the emotional level..does the pic arouse something??i think your portrait does.i really enjoyed your gallery.

I really like most of what you've done, and I think it's great, and so I don't want this to seem mean, but I dislike the effect that post-editing the depth of field provides. It just shows up subtly wrong, and lends the photo a cartoonish air. If that's what you're going for, great! But I don't think its a look that works particularly well with portraits. Like I said, I don't want to be attacking you or anything, it just seems that you are actually interested in what people have to say.

Thanks for the critique, it's much appreciated and I am interested in what people have to say.

With this shot, I don't specifically recall doing any post depth of field but looking at it now, it does look crap! I'm pretty glad to say that I've learnt a lot since taking this and others in my gallery which is not to say that I don't stand by this. It's more a personal thing about getting the shots out there than the technical aspect for shots like these as I'm not my favourite model! But I hear what you're saying. I'm much more aware of my equipment these days and know how to achieve those results before it goes to PS.

Thanks for taking the time to view and comment on my work, it means a lot.

Take care,

Rob.

One thing this photo is NOT, is crap. It's sexy, intruiging, well shot etc, but crap - no.

I think you did a great job with it.

Seeing that, as I said before, Cigarettes have become my religion (heh) You know the multitde of pleasure I take in stimulating my eyes with this wonderful shot of the lovely rob smoking a lovely cigarette.

even though I barely see your eyes, you look like your in deep thought, you remind of a GQ, noir, old movie man, beautiful boy. I like the cropping as well.
Great job
