Great picture, though I must point out that every "calin" sitcker you find is techniqually illegal (meaning there was no permission form the actual artist) though I must say if you keep that in mind it makes the piece more likable. Not to mention your style is gorgeous ^^

Oh yeah...I realize the illegality of using a copyrighted character. Which is why I gave the original painting as a gift to a close friend back in California. ..so the possible distribution of that pic ends there...and I take no real profit from it as well.

It's always good to spread your wings into a new area. Learn the old methods get familiar with them. It'll make you an even better artist in the long run.

I couldnt agree more. I just dont have any space that I can work in. Id have to get rid of my computer.

I admire an artist who actually gets his hands dirty with paint more than someone who just obsorbs the radiation from a monitor!

i love how you draw the ladies.....
they remind me of the old pinups ( on the plaines and hellicopters) and of the tattoo parler i went to ( an artist drew like that)

great work again!!

how do you do it?

How do I do it? Hmm...never really gave it a second thought. First off, I'll usually do a prelim drawing on sketch paper, refine the pic a bit, add and subtract elements. Then when I get it to how I like it, I'll usually use an ArtoGraph projector and project the pic onto the canvas and carefully trace it out. I then refine the pencil on the canvas, and then go directly to paint. I'll start with the outline and then I'll put in the color, then the details and highlights, backgrounds (if needed) then I'll go back over the hard line with more black acrylic (or dark brown)...touch up here and there...sign my name and VIOLA!!
A piece to be proud of...and to quite possibly to offend those ultra-conservatives! (Of course that rarely happens to me...but one can only hope!)

Next time...I'll explain the watercolor process!
