djailledie In reply to Marsilea [2011-12-18 07:30:28 +0000 UTC]

Tu veux dire que la table perturbe?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Marsilea In reply to djailledie [2011-12-18 22:46:44 +0000 UTC]

djailledie In reply to Marsilea [2011-12-19 06:22:23 +0000 UTC]

Tu as bien raison...

Marsilea In reply to djailledie [2012-01-05 19:01:25 +0000 UTC]

Ah! I love the seated gazer inside the standing one - the very gaze-worthy woman in the white coat - and the neat geometrical composition formed by the man, the woman, and the cluster of people at far right just above center. There are other nice details too, these are just the "big" ones!

djailledie In reply to RichardLeach [2011-12-18 07:26:13 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, Richard. Yes, there is always a large complexity in these reflections, that I am always hesitant to capture - the first reason being that before you are on the computer, you don't know what you are going to see. Sometimes it turns out well, sometimes it doesn't. Is the photographer still in charge in that case?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RichardLeach In reply to djailledie [2011-12-19 15:55:10 +0000 UTC]

It does seem that the photographer is not in charge. Though you retain the final say over whether to share the image or discard it - the ultimate being in charge. Photography - at least street - is different from other arts that way, isn't it? I control every single word in a poem - although, people interpret them in different ways that I don't have a say over. Every form has its own areas where the artist is in charge and where the artist is not.

Joel was hard on the photo, wasn't he? To me it's about the image, the overexposure just seemed like more goodness

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

djailledie In reply to RichardLeach [2012-01-05 05:41:01 +0000 UTC]

Yes, in street, you can't control everything. Unless you are VERY patient, you cannot get everything right - and sometimes it is never right. Wisdom would be to give up, but it is frustrating.
Of course, as for poems, people will interpret things differently, and the limit is our own representation of the right word or the right time.
Joel criticized the exposure - and the burned white area at the bottom. I am sure I could fix that if I was using more processing, but I hate to do that...
