A Headache of Time

Sarge drove to Lightning, and tried to get his atention.
    “What!?” Lightning asked.
He sounded a bit angry, but that wassn’t a suprise, Sarge would have the same emotion if it were his child that didn’t exist.
    “Do you want to get your child back, McQueen?” Sarge asked.
    “What are you talking about, Sarge. There never was a child, we were all fooled by Amsterdam.” Lighting sayed.
    “You weren’t fooled, just listen and beleave what I say.” Sarge sayed.
Lightning didn’t know what this was all about, but he would listen and beleave what Sarge had to say.
    “Your child has been ereased from time.” Sarge sayed.
Lightning heard enough story’s in his life, but this one was the biggest of them all.
    “Ereased from time?” Lightning asked.
    “I know it’s hard to beleave, but if you want your child back you have to go to Willy’s Butte.” Sarge sayed.
Lightning wassn‘t convinced, but he couldn’t cheer Sally up, so he did it.
A few minutes later, the whole town was on his way to Willy’s Butte, but when they came their, they didn’t see anyone.
    “Sarge, this is not funny. Sally is crying like a leaking tank, and we all came here for no reason at all!” Lightning sayed.
    “I knew it, you can never trust a Hyundai that can travel trough time, and change it while he‘s at it.” Sarge sayed.
    “Are you talking about me?”
Everyone turned around, and saw a silver Hyundai Sonata looking at them. Sarge looked at him so angry, that he could ram him any second, but if he would do that, Lightning and Sally wouldn’t get their child back.
    “Who are you?” Lightning asked.
    “Me? I am Timing, and I will be one of your rivals.” Timing sayed.
Lightning didn’t get it, but Sarge did. He could remember Timing saying that he and his brother were going to race Lightning both at the same time.
    “If you are the first, where’s the second?” Lightning asked.
Suddenly a Hyundai Coupé apeared before him.
    “Yo, let’s get this over with, Timing, tell him the rules.” Markus sayed.
    “The rules are simple, we will be racing you trough 5 diferent time-lines. Every time has his own kind of road, wich makes it a lot harder to react fast. The finish is in the original time, if you win, you will get the Element of Time. But if you lose, we get your Element of Storms. Agreed?” Timing sayed.
Lightning still found it very wierd, but a race is a race. He agreed with them, Timing and Markus made a starting-line and starting-lights.”
    “Be carefull, kid. If you lose, you will your powers.” Doc sayed.
    “Don’t worry, Doc. I could have won the Piston-Cup, so this race is no diference.” Lightning sayed.
Doc still had a bad feeling about this, but the rest of the town was cheering him on. Sally wanted to cheer him on to, but she was still sad about the news of her child.
    “Get ready to lose.” Timing sayed.
The red light was glowing, and it was blinking on the sound that was coming from it. When it turned green, they quickly drove to the first tunnel that was just 5 miles away from them. They entered it at the same time, and in a flash the tunnel was gone, the whole town couldn’t beleave what they just saw.
Meanwhile, the first time they entered was in 1909, the same time Sarge entered that time. But Markus made sure that the time-line wouldn’t change, if that would happen, Lightning would disapear forever along with his powers, and that was the last thing they wanted to happen. The road was very bumpy, and Lightning had a little trouble keeping his grip, but still he tried to keep his speed. Markus also had a little trouble keeping his grip, but Timing was cruising on the road as if it was just made. And before Lightning even knew it, he saw the second tunnel opening before him, strangely enough, he got back to the original time.
He was the first to cross the finish, but there was something weird about this time, he saw Markus and Timing stopping. He wanted to stop to, but then suddenly another tunnel opened and Lightning drove right in it. When he got to the other side, he was inside a white room.
But he wassn’t alone, he heard an engine growing behind him. He turned around, and saw himself standing in front of him.
    “You know... Sally would be beter off without you.. you know that?”
    “Who are you?” Lightning asked.
The other Lightning looked at Lightning, he was wondering why he asked that kind of question.
    “I am you.. well, not really you, i’m a part of you.” he sayed
    “A part of me...? Is this a part of the time race?” Lightning asked.
    “Yes, and no. You have just been removed from time, in other words you never existed.” the other Lightning sayed.
Lightning couldn’t beleave what his ‘other part’ sayed, but suddenly he started to forget things, he forgot how he met Sally, Doc and the others.
    “What... what is happening to me?” Lightning asked.
    “Your forgeting everything, and when you lose everything your going to start a new life.” the other Lightning sayed.
Lightning began to forget more every 3 seconds, he didn’t understand why he was dragged into this, why did he have to ‘die’?
But suddenly, he saw that the other Lightning had a scratch on his lucky-sticker, if he really was a part of him, he wouldn’t have a scratch there.
    “Your not a part of me, are you?” Lightning sayed.
    “How can you tell? I think the same way as you, I talk the same way as you, and most of all I even look like you. So how can I not be a part of you?” the other Lightning asked.
    “Because I don’t have a scratch on my lucky-sticker.” Lightning sayed.
The other Lightning looked at his right sticker, and saw that there was indeed a little scratch.
    “Who or what are you?” Lightning asked.
Suddenly the white room disapeared and he was back at Willy’s Butte, when he realised he was there he could hear his friends horn. He turned around and wanted to drive to them, but when he saw Markus and Timing, he drove to them.
    “What was that all about?”
    “We didn’t do a thing, and if your going to ask why the race was so short, someone else opened a tunnel to the original time.” Timing sayed.
    “Your the only one’s with the Element of Time, so don’t tell me it wassn’t you.” Lightning sayed.
Timing wanted to trow him into a tunnel, but his brother stopped him.
    “Timing! Sorry, Lightning. But we really didn’t do it, and I can know it because we share the Element.” Markus sayed.
    “But if you didn’t do it, who did?” Lightning asked.
    “I think I can answer that question.”
Without even noticing, a red Hyundai Accent was standing on a hill above them. He drove down it at incredible speed, and he also wassn’t very bad at keeping his grip on the dirt, it almost looked like he was driving on asfalt.
He stopped just a 3 meters before Lightning, dust was flying all around him, and some of the sand came in Lightning’s mouth.
    “Who are you?” Lightning asked.
    “I am Axe, and these are my son’s.” the car sayed.
The two Hyundai’s drove to their father, Lightning was looking at Axe as if he wanted to ram him any minute. While he was looking at him, he saw the same scratch that was on that Lightning in the white room.
    “You were... me?” Lightning asked.
    “Yes and no, the no part is because I used a 24th century projector to project your body, but the projector had to use another car to put the body on. And the scartch stayed there, and that’s because there was just one small detail of your own body that was different.” Axe sayed.
Lightning and everyone else looked at him, in a way like they were going to say ‘your crazy!’. Axe didn’t pay any atention to them, he was just focusing on Lightning.
    “Prepare to.... WAKE UP!!!” Axe sayed.
At first he heard Axe his voice, then suddenly he heard Sally screaming at him. He woke up instandly with a shock, Sally was standing next to him and she looked happy that he finally woke up.
    “Oh, it was just a dream. I was dreaming about 3 Hyundai’s and the Element of Time. And for some reason I think it was real.” Lightning sayed.
    “It was, that was just yesterday ago.” Sally sayed.
Lightning couldn’t beleave it, but now he was wondering what happend, but before he could ask it, Sally already gave the answer.
    “You defeated him and his son’s, you have the Element of Time, and we got our baby back.” Sally sayed.
Lighting was happy to hear that, but he wassn’t very happy with the headache. Sally leaned against him, she closed her eyes. And the 3 Hyundai’s, they were riding around the town, singing a sad song.
