Description Name: Zali Qul'Rashi
Race: Troll
Age (Human Equivalent): 19
Class: Shaman
Personality: Expressive, optimistic, slightly naive

Zali is the youngest of nine siblings in an unexpectedly orderly home. The eldest sibling of the family, her brother Razh, tended to keep the other eight in line, and as a result, made a fantastic soldier, an example two brothers and one sister followed. Zali instead took a fascination with nature, and would spend most of her time outdoors, sometimes spending hours watching the waves roll upon the short. Her love of nature was never actually expressed by her, however. By the time she was five, it was apparent she was completely mute.

Zali's obsession with nature did not stop when she became old enough to comprehend the mystic forces of the elements. It only made her more determined to be in synchronicity with them. Communicating in crude drawings, Zali would express her desire to her parents that she wished to become a Shaman, a course of action they proudly blessed.

When Zali was fourteen years old, her parents tearfully informed her and her siblings that an orcish captain had come to their village to deliver casualty reports to the families of fallen soldiers. Razh had been slain in the line of duty.

Zali was devastated. She sat in mourning for hours, wanting to say so much for Razh, and able to say nothing. She wandered about the village in a daze for a great while until she came upon the armorer's hut, the occupant being a close friend of Zali's family for years. He offered her tasks to divert her mind from her sorrow, but she declined. Instead, her eyes fell on the armorer's collection of dyes. She got his permission to borrow a few jars, and with his help, stretched a leather hide across two posts outside. She dipped her finger in a jar of dye and began to paint. Everything she had ever wanted to tell Razh about her admiration for him spilled onto the makeshift canvas, some strokes abstract and half-conscious, some deliberate and precise. When she was finished, she stepped back, and heard gasps of amazement from the crowd. Her final picture depicted her brother atop a rocky crag, his spear pointed at the unseen enemies before him, unleashing a mighty roar. At the bottom corner, she pressed her hand onto the canvas by way of signature, and wrote in crudely-drawn trollish characters, "The Charge".

Years later, even as she was still a neophyte Shaman, Zali continued to paint, finding it an excellent means of expressing herself and communicating with the world. By this point, she had also learned how to write properly. Happy and content as could be, she was eager and willing to continue her training and become a fully-fledged Shaman. Being a bit over-eager at times, however, she would constantly make mistakes, but would always pick herself up and, with a smile on her face, try again.

She found that making sculptures came rather easily to her as she carved her Earth and Fire totems with pristine quality, allowing her to pick up her spells faster than others. Her Wind totem was next, but this one was carved with an incorrect amount of feathers on one of the wings. She shrugged it off and thought nothing of it, and only realized the severity of her error when she attempted to cast a breathing spell.

When the wind materialized in her, it was too much too fast. In under a minute, she was spherical and floating on the water. She washed ashore, still flailing helplessly, when her master found her. When the spell lost its effect, she shrunk back to normal. Had she been able to laugh, she would have. She conveyed the relaxing experience to canvas soon after, and thought nothing of it afterwards...at least, until she had a chance encounter with a certain night elf druid...

Zali's passion is art, specifically painting and sculpture. She carries a sheet of parchment and a lump of charcoal with her at all times to write for people what she wishes to say in casual conversation. For the important things, the philosophical things, she paints and carves.

Zali almost never gets angry, but is usually rather sensitive. She tries to please everybody, but sometimes, she finds, this simply cannot work out. She is dedicated to her studies as a Shaman, and trusts in the nature of the universe and the power of the elements to set right what goes wrong.

Zali currently lives with her sister Ju'la near Orgrimmar, close to the sea. She finds employment where she can, but will occasionally be commissioned to produce a work of art by a variety of clients.
