I think it depends on the scanner you buy. The one i have is a EPSON stylus NX400, its a nice one out of the bunch, even though i got it on sale. It was about 80$. What i have have is an all in one too. A printer/scanner/copier so i'm guessing the picture is very nice because its a copier. I guess you just get what you pay for when it comes to scanners or digital art material.
