Interesting map, and I understand a lot of these border changes, but why split up Australia?

Australia may not be a huge power now, but it has such a lot of mineral resources underground and if I let it stay a single state, it would be a powerhouse.

Question, What is the name of the blue country that owns Taiwan?
And where did you get your base map from?

I like most of these ideas.

DinoSpain In reply to Lorem-64 [2016-06-06 13:07:26 +0000 UTC]

The country name is "Shanghai", formally "The Republic of China".

The base map is the Victoria II map modified by me.

This world is actually a nightmare scenario for me. I hate Balkanized Earths, because Nationalism is my least favorite ideology and Balkanization is in my opinion the ultimate expression of that.

Why would you prefer the splitting up of the UK may I ask? ^^

Historically England and Scotland have been separated and enemies until their crowns united. I'd give Northern Ireland to Ireland because I think Ireland is a sole nation splitted by religious belief.

Germany shouldn´t lose Schleswig-Holstein, West-Prussia and parts to France, else is more or less fine.^^

Germany got land in the East, so I had to take land from then in the West. A Greater Germany owning so much territory as you say would be the ruler of Europe and I want the Status Quo to maintain.

Arminius1871 In reply to DinoSpain [2016-05-30 06:28:16 +0000 UTC]

But the Rhein region is muuuuchh more worth than the fields in the east,
the Rhein-Ruhr regions is very dense populated and has many important
german cities, you can´t give Cologne or Aachen to France, then better take
Istria/ Slovenia away XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DinoSpain In reply to Arminius1871 [2016-05-30 12:59:35 +0000 UTC]

But Silelsia and Bohemia have also a lot of resources and those fields can serve as "Lebensraum". The Ruhr got population from the East (GDR and lost territories in WW2), plus Germany kept the Ruhr here.

Arminius1871 In reply to DinoSpain [2016-05-30 20:40:40 +0000 UTC]

And the historical/ cultural aspects? Aachen, Köln, Xanten, Koblenz, the most german of all rivers in french hands?
And Lübeck danish XD

It´s not meant bad, just my opinion that historical cities and regions should not be shifted over like that.

DinoSpain In reply to Arminius1871 [2016-05-31 04:37:36 +0000 UTC]

I always considered the Elbe as the "German River" (You know, it passes across central Germany where the Rhine used to be the border of ancient Germania). Aachen (Aix la Chapelle) has some French historical relevance as it was the residence of the Frankish Emperor Charlemagne. Köln, yeah is actually German, do not know about Xanten and Koblenz, meh.

You can mean good or bad as long as you express your opinion clearfully.

Arminius1871 In reply to DinoSpain [2016-05-31 06:39:52 +0000 UTC]

The Elbe too, but the Rhein was the most important river for our patriotic and national movement,
like this song:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL2sVi…

It nearly became our national antheme^^

Yes but who was Charlemagne/ Karl the Great? A germanic frankish ruler, who loved his frankish langage and even
wrote down many of his forefathers legends and the grammar of his language, the Franken were pre-Germans that
conquered and ruled over France, so if someone has a claim it is Germany. Ofc he is the father of both nations,
but he is of german blood, and the german Kaiser after Karl in the holy roman empire of german nation often crowned
themselves in Aachen, until Frankfurt became more important.

Your last paragraph is completely right, but made me remember those mad nationalists who say great empires had roots from their country.

Thank you, you're definetely a good person aswell ^^

Of course we need more patriots in most of Europe, specially in the west. Such a great past and no one barely remembers it. (Please, no more on the Balkans, just no, agh...!)

Arminius1871 In reply to DinoSpain [2016-06-01 05:58:36 +0000 UTC]

Germans have a very bad attitude, because of the world war, they have nearly no patriotism, they hate themselves,
and certain left groups like the Antifa, scream stuff like: Germany must die, and the politicians don´t care.

That´s why I am patriotic, I wanna show the Germans that they had also great achievements in history.

Why is Patagonia independent in your ideal world? And why is Russia an empire?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DinoSpain In reply to LaplandAr [2016-05-29 04:53:30 +0000 UTC]

Siempre me gustó la idea de un mundo en el que los países se ajustaran a las regiones geográficas del mundo, por eso la Patagonia independiente. Russia es un imperio por que al menos así el país tendría un gobierno real.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LaplandAr In reply to DinoSpain [2016-05-29 05:13:15 +0000 UTC]

Interesante
En mi opinion, Patagonia no sería independiente, pero las comunidades originarias (Indias, Nativas, Aborigenes o como quieran llamarlas) patagónicas tendrían bastante autonomía, algo así como los Lapones en Suecia.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DinoSpain In reply to LaplandAr [2016-05-29 09:21:32 +0000 UTC]

Seh esa es buena idea y son ejemplos parecidos.

Las poblaciones originarias son los Indígenas o Indios (Nativos se refiere al mundo en general y Aborígenes a los de Australia).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LaplandAr In reply to DinoSpain [2016-05-29 14:41:40 +0000 UTC]

No necesariamente

your ideal world is where Russia was divided and Israel does not exist in general? hmmm...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DinoSpain In reply to FoxyRedCat [2016-05-28 12:18:53 +0000 UTC]

Russia is divided because it was too big. Siberia would administer it's resources in a much better way if they were independent.

Israel does not exist, but Palestine is a triple-state confederation of Copts, Jews and Muslims.

FoxyRedCat In reply to DinoSpain [2016-05-28 14:36:40 +0000 UTC]

I wonder why you haven't separated the Caucasus in this case. and... why the Ukraine captured some Russian territories? they're had war?

fine. but I think you could name it like "Palestinian Confederation".

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DinoSpain In reply to FoxyRedCat [2016-05-28 17:24:24 +0000 UTC]

Because it's more like an ethnic border. Russia gained Donetsk and ceded Kursk.

Palestine is a Confederation, but I had no room to place the name.

FoxyRedCat In reply to DinoSpain [2016-05-29 09:38:47 +0000 UTC]

DinoSpain In reply to FoxyRedCat [2016-05-29 19:21:10 +0000 UTC]

I'd like to see an Iberian unification. And I did that to Morocco just to make it, no real reason.

Strange... well anyway kind of weird Since São Paulo is More of a Minas Gerais-Espirito Santo as Rio de Janeiro has almost all of São Paulo, also don't you think Spain would be better named Iberia?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DinoSpain In reply to lucas7500 [2016-05-28 04:27:03 +0000 UTC]

I knew someone would say that about Spain. Iberia refers to the area around the river Íber (Ebro) which flows across Catalonia and Aragon. The ancient term to refer to the whole peninsula was "Hispania", which later evolved to Spain. Durin 16th Century, for example, Portuguese authors refered to the peninsula as "Spain". When the Iberian Union broke people decided to refer to it as "Iberia".
