Description A sort of gift for ! Featuring his OC Duke Nightmare having tea time with my OC Merlina Ambrosius.

See, it's based on the small RP we're doing in the comments section on one of his pics. xD

OMG These two look awesome on this pic. xD Seriously, I think they probably would get along well xD Both are so conniving and magical and stuff. Dang, imagine if they worked together on a scheme. O.o The world would be DONE FOR.

Nah, she's too loyal to Princess Becky to do that... unless, of course, Becky WANTED her to destroy the world, of course.

Duke Nightmare, though, doesn't believe in senseless, tactless destruction, anyway, so there's little chance of world destruction. :/ Probably domination, then.

Yoinks! XD

Okay, enough banter! I hope I got him right, RedKnight! And I hope you likey!~

If you're at all curious, this is how the exchange went between these two after Dinah was debating with Silly Road about villains and Merlina was with them and Silly mentioned that Duke could shapeshift into a handsome form to tempt women into joining his ranks. :

Merlina: Pah! Basic magic trickery! That is him over there!

*Points to this handsome-looking man hiding behind a tree*

Duke: Oh, drat it all! There goes my... element of surprise for the evening

Duke Nightmare: But I'm not too mad about it....especially when I get to be in the presence of such........*sniffs rose he's holding* .......lovely ladies~

Merlina: Ah, yes; I must say, Sir Nightmare, that I do admire your class. Truly. Class and prestige is all that matters in a confrontation; lest it appear... hostile. *Politely bows* Welcome to the Dreamworld. It's a shame you won't be staying long; truly. I would deign to share some crumpets and tea with you

Duke Nightmare: Indeed. This place is so lovely.......it would be a shame  .......if something.......TERRIBLE.....were to happen to it! But I digress......I'm not the sort of villain to needlessly destroy the landscape. I'm much more organized than that!  Btw, one of my spies tells me that you recently received a pointy-eared visitor with special powers.  Is that ALtrue?

Merlina: Heh. I admire your gumption, friend. You find it prosperous to have your little spies laying around... did you think they would go unnoticed? I am dreadfully sorry, but that was not the case. You will find one in pieces if you look behind the bush to your east. Also, your empty threats do little to draw fear from my heart; as do you. Now, how about that tea offer, hmm? Perhaps we can discuss your veritable exploits. Do you like Earl Gray?

Duke Nightmare: Pity - I lose more Turpenterrors that way!  Tea? That sounds lovely, my dear Merlina. Despite my evil looks, I still know how to be gentile.

Silly Road: Don't let you guard down girls. He's plotting something - I just know it!

Duke Nightmare: (sighs) I shame we live in such skeptical times, is it not?

Merlina: Yes, yes; it IS quite dreadful.

*Magically makes a table and tea set appear*

Merlina: Shall we? Dinah, you may leave now. Take Silly Road on a tour of Lah-Lah Land with Sean.

Dinah: But---

Merlina: I DO think she would enjoy Sweets Hilltops; all the candy growing there.

Dinah: Merlina---

Merlina: Go.

*Exit Dinah and Silly Road*

Merlina: So, Duke. Tell me more about your background.

Duke Nightmare: Ah, yes....where to begin? I was born to a wonderful toon mother and father. I also had a twin brother....*takes a sip of tea* .....sadly, my mother was....oh....how do I put this?..........she wasn't "right" in her head. The scientists at the research lab knew that when she'd married a toon brought to life by the rainbow paint they developed, and then she had to use the same paint on herself to be a toon once she found out she was expecting toon twins.

Merlina: Hm. *sips tea* So, where has your brother gone as of late? Or did you... kill him, perchance?

Duke Nightmare: Oh goodness, no! We fought a few times, but we're toons, so we couldn't really kill eachother in the first place!  As I was saying before, becoming a toon herself was the only way she could give birth and live, but becoming a creature of paint and whimsey had driven her frothing mad, so she had to be sealed away in the toon world along with my father who volunteered to go with her to keep her in check. The two went on to star in a Saturday morning cartoon show...........*takes a sip of tea* ....... without the viewers ever suspecting they were actually watching a poor, deranged woman-turned-toon who had been sentenced there.

Merlina: I...I'm dreadfully sorry about your Mother. Mine was somewhat similar in the sense of having gone mad. Though her head was cleaved off by Sir Galahad. *cup in her hand twitches as she keeps her composure* Anyways. It must be nice to have a sibling on the same terms as you. I...have a half-sibling, though they were never quite as powerful, nor sophisticated as I, so we were never much on the same terms.

Duke Nightmare: I suppose it's a bit different for everyone. After our parents were sent away, the scientists chose some from among them to raise us up. Now since we're toons, all the knowledge of our parents had been copied onto us, so there was really no need to teach us anything. Although toons live forever and don't have to age, we both chose to grow up far enough so that at least we could defend ourselves from.....those who failed to understand us well enough.

Merlina: Absolutely. Sometimes living out in solitude is the best way to learn yourself, rather than to have belligerent fools surround you. *sips tea* I myself have taken the occasional 20-year sabbatical; no harm is done. Nature, I find, is the best psychiatrist. As well as the best teacher.

Duke Nightmare: That reminds me.......as time went on, I started to disguise myself as a human. I was a young boy away at summer camp. Even among the other kids, I didn't feel like I belonged, because my very existence was unnatural, and if they knew I was really a living cartoon, then they wouldn't take me seriously. So I walked a bit into the woods to be alone for a bit to be alone with my thoughts, but it was there that I beheld a beautiful sight - a lovely blonde girl with eyes as blue as the sky itself. Shyly, a came up to her and introduced myself......by my human name, of course....... and she told me hers: Celia Rhodes. I like the way she laughed, the way she smiled, and she told me a secret.......that she wanted to be a toon when she grew up! I didn't tell her that I was a toon, but at that moment, I knew she was the one for me. We have been good friends ever since, and not once did she suspect my true nature. I knew I had to make Celia Rhodes.......Silly Road.........I knew I had to have her for my wife!

Merlina: That is... quite the tale. Surely you jest.

Duke Nightmare: My twin brother said something similar to that when I returned from camp and told him. You see, our adoptive human father kept the paint locked up in a secret place, and only he and my brother knew the location at the time. I knew that if I used that paint on Celia Rhodes, then she could become Silly Road, and in return, she'd love me back for making her dream come true! I politely asked him to let me borrow the paint.....the same paint that created our toon father, and made our birth-mother into a toon.......the very same paint that was responsible for our existence, but he refused. -_-

Merlina: Mmm. *Sips tea* And this is what causes your evil drive? A pretty poor excuse, if you ask me. Mayhaps you should use your power for more... beneficial means, rather than throwing what sound to me, like childish tantrums.

Duke Nightmare:.......Ultimately, I had no choice but to fight him for it. I lost to him, and from that point onward, our adoptive parents split us up, with the "mother" taking me away from the "father" and my brother......and the paint. My brother took it upon himself to guard the paint from me, but one day the pressure finally got to him, so wanting to be rid of it for good, he'd taken it in his human form outside a church building, and was about to bury it, when Celia Rhodes came there on an invite from........a boy her age by the name of Nate Martin.........-_-...........he.......had invited her to paint the inside of a Sunday school room with him, and having forgotten to bring her own paint, she grabbed the toon paint, not knowing what I knew about it.............To make a long story short............one drop of paint was all it took to transform her into Silly Road.......the first time I saw her in toon form, she was even more beautiful than I imagined! After she left.......Nate......by himself.......she then used the paint on a number of her friends.........so I took the chance and took the paint from her, because it was the best way to keep me on her mind. I.....genuinely love her....everything about her.....her hopes.....her dreams......her smile, and her insane laugh. Once I make her my wife, we can paint the boring world of humans together as it should be.......and give the world back the insanity that it gave to my mother!

Merlina: Okay. I see. The world deserves to suffer for the error of a few. I do feel this way myself at times, though... it is of no use, and does not help anything. Mmmm... *looks at the rose on the table* So; is this your sword of choice?

Duke Nightmare: Yes, it is quite lovely, is it not?.......*picks it up and smells it*........It is my Shinozuma Blade......if you know your Japanese, then I'm sure you know what that means!

Merlina: "Shi" means "death" in Japanese... that is all what one needs to know. Highly superstitious people they can be; they fear the number 4, as it is pronounced "shi". They refer to it as "yon" instead. Look; I know little Japanese. I have not really taken it upon myself to learn their language, nor their culture; as it does not exist in this world. Surprised how I know this? Dinah and Sean gave me a little anime crash course. Now; your blade. I have seen Rose blades before; an innocent flower becoming an instrument of death. Morgana has a purple rose that can morph into a Longsword. This is not a surprise. Besides, I sense a powerful... electric aura from within this blade.

Duke Nightmare: Your insight serves you well, for Shinozuma is a sort of combination of the Japanese words for death,..........and lighting! *rose in hand explodes into a green sword with electricity running through it*...........It was forged from the same paint that turns people into toons. You see, when that paint was made, it's original purpose was not to make living cartoon characters, but to generate physical matter. This is possible because the paint is atomically-charged. That is to say, it works on an atomic level. And before you ask, no - this sword does NOT split atoms.....because.....quite frankly that would just be overkill, the battle would end much too fast, and where's the fun in THAT, I ask you?

Merlina: I DO prefer fast battles; that way I can get back to my original tasks undisturbed. I take no pleasure in the agony of others... unless they've truly been a nuisance. But even still, I much prefer... warping them away, or simply disintegrating them with a charge of Gray Magic, despite it being illegal in the Dreamworld.

Duke Nightmare: So then.....you admit that you have illegal preferences......perhaps we're not so different afterall!

Merlina: I never said we were. I prefer to handle my evil tendencies in more productive ways; and yet still, the Dreamworld can see my wicked nature as it is lane bare, and cannot when I choose to conceal it with my acts of kindness stemmed from the good in me. See, I am a very torn soul; both Darkness and Light consume me. My Grandfather Merlin... he was half-Nightmare. My mother, Nivianne---daughter of Nimue, the Lady of the Lake, was part Exalt. Exalts are the product of Good dreams. *sips tea* I am sure you can see why my illegal magic is considered "Gray" now

Duke Nightmare:...........I must ask you.......do you enjoy your current position?

Merlina: I would say to you that, for the most part, my loyalty to Rebecca is unwavering; regardless of how much I 'enjoy' this job. It is more than a job, even; it is my DUTY to serve the Pendragon family.

Duke Nightmare: Really? Because as for MY position,.......*gets up to stretch a bit, then sits back down*.......there - I'm much more happier with my position now!

Merlina: ...

Duke Nightmare: Though seriously, having so many tails can make it hard to get into a good position sometimes!

Merlina: So can large wings and tail feathers; so I prefer to take a humanoid shape.

Duke Nightmare: Large wings and tailfeathers you say?

Merlina: My purest form is that of a Giant Purple Hawk.

Duke Nightmare: A giant purple hawk? That sounds almost......toony!

Merlina: Pfft. You wish, my dear Duke. I will have you know that I've no cartoonish features upon my body. I am simply---majestic; terrible; brutal, even. I once blemished an army of 5000 with an innocent beat of my mighty wings.

Duke Nightmare: So would you say that your purple hawk form is a type of Roc?

Merlina: Not exactly; though I DO have the ability to petrify those whom receive my talons. I am neither a Roc, nor Gryphon, nor Hippogriff, nor Hieracosphinx, nor Habrok. I am simply... Merlina.

Duke Nightmare: I'd say that you're a bit.....bird-brained...... ..........but you're clearly smarter than any bird........even though I think that Merlina is a nice name for a beautiful bird!

Merlina: Laugh if you must... birds are the most intelligent life-forms on the planet. Designed to fly as powerful kites, to nest in any habitat; Avians are among the most intricate creatures. And yes, my name is lovely, is it not? It is merely a feminization of "Merlin". It's meaning? "A Fortress Among the Sea."

Duke Nightmare: As a toon, I can't help but make puns sometimes, it's part of my nature as one.  Toons are meant to make others laugh afterall!  I think that you'd look stunning with a beak to smile with, but you already seem beautiful!

Merlina: *chuckles* Oh, you impudent little trickster. Trying to butter me up now, are we?

Duke Nightmare: I bet you'd have a lovely coat of feathers.....they must feel so soft.

Merlina: They are quite silky, if you must know. Here. *sprouts one from her forearm and plucks it, giving it to him* Feel it, if you will.

Duke Nightmare: *takes it and feels it* It's quite nice indeed!  Well, I think I've stayed long enough. I need to wake up afterall, but I just want you to know that this was one of the nicest dreams I've had.

Merlina: Truly. It was a pleasure. Now; awaken.

*Suddenly, the feather glows and zaps him, causing him to be woken up by force. The feather slowly wafts to the floor and Merlina steps up to it and causes it to fade away.*

Merlina: Heh. It always works.

Man, I sense that Merlina and Duke will probably enter into a huge and dangerous argument

Oh, ho, ho! Maybe so!

But again, maybe not; Merlina knows how to play her cards.

Like a good villain, state farm is there!

Sorry, I had to. xD

But yes, of course he's civil!~ Especially in the presence of such a refined lady like Merlina, I would presume.

Oh, worry not. She knows what she's doing. She's had 800 years + experience with villains of all types. And TONS of magical training and even decent swordplay, as well. Agelessness has its own rewards, you know?

She is nearly undefeatable, with only ONE known weakness, which she split in half and separated into hidden chambers on separate sides of the Dreamworld. What is it, may you ask? The Legendary Sword of Souls; Excalibur.

Maybe someday, Dinah and Sean will have to... learn about this. It would be truly sad, though. Merlina's been a good mentor and friend towards us. Though, she's not of strictly evil alignment per se, but what if they should battle her at some point? Scary thought, there. O.o
