Description
This is my dog. She is an older puppy, clocking out at around 11 years old (I think). She’s mostly a Dalmatian, but there are other breeds mixed in. She’s a sweetheart with no bite; all bark. She warms up to women faster then men, and we believe it’s because she first belonged to an abusive family. Yep, she was a rescue. I was right around 6 when we got her. I love her to the end of the earth and back, but unfortunately, her time may be closing.

Lucy, my grandparent’s dog, was one year older then Domino. She was a beagle, similar height, length, and weight, and just as free-spirited, if not more so. Lucy passed away a couple of months ago, and now, my family and I are worried that the same will happen to Domino not that far into the future.

So, in celebration of a long, healthy life, I have decided to paint a portrait of my favorite canine.

I took several pictures for reference, and I have at least 10 in my storage now, but I doubt I’ll get rid of them anytime soon.

Domino was my friend when no one else was. She was a listener, soft and warm, and would just sit while I told her everything. In second grade, we had to write letters to our family members. Every now and then, I wrote to Domino. She had beautiful handwriting, lol. I just re-found that notebook recently. They say knowing is half the battle, but ignorance is also a bliss. I agree to that last part; it was more magical not knowing it was Mom writing the notes.

I love my puppy more than I can put into words, so here’s a tribute to her.
