I don't know why, but I get a sort of tear jerking vibe from this.
Like, the haxorus felt nothing but contempt and loneliness most of his life due to his fearsome appearance, and after some time of getting to bond with the other poke'mon who care more for who he his rather than what, he finally knows what true happiness feels like.
Probably not what you were going for, but that's just what I'm feeling from this. And I will say, it's touching.
