Just came across these today and thought I'd submit them ^^ The fish one looks a lot better on its own I think. Btw they're supposed to be koi.

Oh thanks for the technical explanation, I'm really curious about learning this stuff, there are sooo many different ways you can do something in Photoshop.

Very nice koi, great job turning this into a tattoo, I looked at the full painting and it doesn't look pasted on like when I try to put designs on things. It does just look nice standing alone too.

Thanks For pasting on the design, I duplicated the layer and set the lower layer to multiply and the higher layer to overlay (needed overlay to pop the white) and then messed with the opacities until it looked right. I think I also used a noise filter on them to give a pore-like texture, but you can't tell anyway.
