This is my entry for 's contest on Medowhaven [link] (go checkout her gallery, it's amazing!)The characters are Faeren, a young elf knight and Snoots, his little enchanted pet. The theme of the contest was to depict the relationship between Faeren and the Forest of Illusions, since he's part of this forest.
I wanted to make him look as a tree and also live as a tree, growing after the rain.
I've had a lot of fun painting it, I hope you'll like it

I can't imagine a painting being more incredible than this. It takes absolute genius to paint this many tiny details in shocking realism with no reference. Everything is so believeable and real, yet the painting is still otherworldly and creative. Everytime I look at this, I see some thing new (the spiderweb on his ear, the ladybug in the corner, etc) and everytime I love it that much more. This can be said about everything in your gallery. Very well done.
