I had an idea for a piece that I wanted to try coloring differently. I wanted to focus on flat colors and subtle gradients, with minimal to no shading. I thought by taking a different approach to the piece I might have better luck finishing it, and I was right. I managed to make this in just a day, which considering my recent track record, is quite astounding.

I'm very happy with the piece, I should try coloring like this more in the future. We'll have to wait and see if I actually do. The girl is no one specific, just a face I saw in my head. I felt like making a cute girl. As for the background I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I settled on making a pretty rough painting of a bookshelf, like you just found her in the library. I've wanted to get my feet wet with some more digital painting, and this was some nice easy practice.

Overall, I very pleased with this piece, I really ought to do more things I'm not familiar with. Seems like it might be the perfect solution to art block.
