Great picture and the perfect one to illustrate an aspect of leadership in a Powerpoint presentation I am giving in a few days. The model looks very knightly and great costume and weapon. Well done. Thanks for sharing. Regards Stephen

Hi,

It's a point from Tom Peters who said:

"Leaders create projects. Great leaders create quests."

His point is that leaders have imagination and fire up the passion in others to achieve goals. Making a business target like becoming the biggest company in an industry might be more exciting to people if considered as a quest to expand and rule the industry etc.

The more excited they are the more they will do willingly. I wanted a figure of a crusader type individual who was inspired by the stories of the quest to free the holy land from the infidels. Total rubbish of course but the stories pursuaded a lot of people to do it - that's leadership to me!

You picture is perfect!

Regards

Stephen

Ah, I see. I hear 'leadership' and I think about Franklin Covey. My wife read a lot of stuff by him.

Your remark about the 'crusader, inspired by stories' is kinda like what I think about leadership: 'leaders follow quests'. There are 'eternal quests' (using 'eternal'for lack of a better term right now)like: defeating the dragon, rescuing the damsel or fighting for truth. We like myths and legends for a reason.

So, in my opinion the Crusaders, fighting to help the Eastern Christians who had been raped and slaughtered for approx. 400 yrs. by certain people did not react to 'rubbish' or 'stories', but to a very real and nasty threat. You might as well call the soldiers on Omaha Beach people who followed 'stories'.

So, remember: as far as I could look like a leader, it's because I'm inspired by mine: Jesus. (Okay...I like Britto and Beowulf very much too...)

Your site looks good, awesomely professional and such. Great photo too. Well..you ought to have. You're a headhunter after all.
