If you haven't already I strongly suggest a read of this university paper done on Western European lyres from 400-1200. It shows 26 examples of archaeological finds

Yeah it was a shame I had to replace the front of the lyre to hide the bard's hand. But then again, when people do shots of objects they rarely do them from unusual angles so I'd probably have had to 'steal' your bard's lyre anyway!
