Of all the characters in FFVII, the one closest to my heart would be this guy here. When I saw how sweet his character was, I knew I'd draw him sooner or later.
Anyways, I started this shortly after my birthday in May and finished it yesterday. I was hunting for a nice ref piccie, but most had him looking serious. I felt it'd be a shame to represent such a cheerful, upbeat character that way. Then, I stumbled on this still and the rest, as they say, is history.

I drew this almost everywhere I could; during breaks in lectures, when I was having lunch, even when I was in the airport, waiting for my flight back home! (Though when I got people coming up to me with "Can you draw me too?", I'd promptly close my sketchbook and only resume after they'd left)

The only major change I made was to his eyes; I wanted them to have a mako glow, which wasn't very evident in the ref piccie. The stitching was very frustrating; my classmates can attest to that. I don't know how many times I'd slam my sketchbook shut and walk away to get a breather before coming back and resuming work on the stitches. DX

Done with pencils, cotton buds and an eraser in my sketchbook.
