In pump up the volume, Christian Slater's character laments about the lack of heroes and meaning and what not and ends with "All the great themes have been used up and turned into theme parks."

Just something about your tag saying we have to be our own superheroes made me think of it. That and the kind of apprehensive expression.

On an interesting note, in the classical sense of the hero, the hero would have to be dead to receive his immortal fame (Achilles, etc.).

So many do the airbrush across the eyes.. Id Love to see it Vertically say, down one side of the face.. covering one eye.. or. maybe even Diagonally?

It's actually eye shadow. I like that idea, but in this picture it was supposed to be a mask.
