Since I had to draw Scott (still working on his daughter...), I went for the best comics iteration we've ever had and we will ever have.
Funny how much like his more personal nemeses (a certain Cenobite-looking geneticist and an Egyptian mutant cyborg out of Megaman X...), Scott's best versions belong to the initial X-Factor run and the 92'-97' era.
While 80's Scott is a flawed individual, he's also the first to defend his buddies and even goes out if his way to save cops that were going to arrest while he was yelling angrily about his marital problems and an illusion of Prof X (not gonna lie, I'd yell at the latter too !). He also , with Jean's help, closes the transitional tale between X-factor and the Lobdell-Nicieza run by optically kamehamehaing Apocalypse's innards to the point Nur still feels it the next time he appears !
And 90'sClops ? What can I say ? Lobdell, Nicieza, Kelly and Seagle all did phenomenal jobs with Scott.
They gave new depths to Cyke's character by having him being married after a lengthy build-up (again, something I find common with most romances I latch onto...) , being the father of a man twice his age and a daughter he finally gets to interact with and facing the betrayal and breakdown of his father figure.
And he did all that while being heroic and giving a fucking damn about his loved ones and teammates.

The 00's one that is oh so complex ?... unless you're talking about the X-men EVO, X-men Legends or First Class versions (they are pretty cool !), then I don't have any reason to care. He is right ? Yeah, segregation, DA EDGY murder squads, isolated islands, assassination attempt on his own son, adultery, banishing powerless friends, a REVOLUTION that is utterly stupid the moment one really thinks about it ... Dicklops is in many ways everything I find wrong with 00's comics; new guys are fads, good guys are bad guys and bad guys are irrelevant jobbers. Wonderful...
