Faruss Class Destroyer

Smaller than a frigate, the Faruss Class destroyer never the less is an integral part of a fleet, providing perimeter defence as well as a highly mobile and fast strike unit for the interception of mobile attack forces before they get to the main fleet elements. The Faruss Class has no missile armaments and relies solely on energy based weapons, making logistics a lot easier for fleet Quarter Masters.

Also capable of operating on its own, the Faruss Class has the speed, power and endurance for extended operations revolving around the interception and elimination of small scale independent threats such as pirates and terrorist groups.

Named after the planet Faruss in the Rokan system, part of the Jaman CLuster in the Border Regions of Concordat space, this planet was a major manufacturing and agricultural centre, supplying at a significant cost to itself several Concordat fleets that had been cut off during the War of Two Powers, allowing them to operate at full capacity to prevent the Cluster from falling to the Golam Regency's flotilla.
After the war a Concordat charter diverted funds to restore the planet to pre war levels by way of thanks for their efforts. A holiday is held on the planet each year to celebrate the final liberation, when vast quantities of Jaman Spiced Beer and heavily spiced foods are consumed. The spices reflecting the frugal times when substandard foodstuffs were made more palatable by their addition.
When visiting Faruss, it is recommended that you try the Jaman Beer, but acquire the locally brewed beverage instead of the commercially produced, as it has a more authentic taste as well as the 'Jaman Stare' a wide eyed look drinkers get after their first mug.
