Meet Bella, she is spunky, joyful, sweet, kind, positive and always curious - having never left the walls of the city before there is much to see along their journey. Always trying to lend a helping hand but mostly ending up in the way, Bella asks Lei to teach her how to use a bow so she can be more useful. Bella is 17 years old, has brown hair and green eyes, she is the young Empress of the city.This took me approx 10 hours and was done in a 0.7 lead,
Bella is an original character for my novel but I used a photo of Mia Wasikowska (Alice In Wonderland) as a reference:

What i like about your artwork. it always appears to be not forced or contrived, there's no chaotic lines, only tranquil subtle shading and Dreamy. i always like how you articulate the hair. you can almost see the soulfulness in her eyes too. Lovely Drawing. really lovely.

I think the reason my artwork in many cases appears dreamy or soft is simply because I only draw when I feel that need within me to create something new, I never push myself to finish a drawing on a day I'm not feeling it. I'm working on one right now that's taken me about 2 weeks of 3-4 hour sessions because I have only been semi-inspired. I appreciate your comments always! The hair is probably my favourite thing on a woman to draw, and I'm learning to find fun in drawing mens hair as well.
Funny story about this drawing: I put out an ad requesting a certain look to base my Bella off of but (unfortunately) I had little to no help, so I decided instead to use the girl who played Alice in Wonderland, just for shaping really - I gave her a very different look than I had originally planned - nonetheless I had finished the sketch and the next day I went out to a coffee shop and next to me was a person who looked EXACTLY like this drawing, I found my real life Bella! (also unfortunately) she spent nearly 20 minutes ordering a tiny little non-frap soy something or other and by that time I had to leave so I didnt get to talk with her. How spooky, eh? Draw someone out of your head and they're right in front of you the next day?

Mika, i know you take your time on Drawings - i can see you're committed to art and also committed to your Family, so i understand that you draw only when you feel the need to draw and never push yourself. i think that is a sensible philosophy. Compared to a lot of artists on DA that continuously upload pointless art that you can clearly see is rushed. changing the subject slightly, there is a problem with my account and i don't know if you've been experiencing it and idk whats causing it. The problem is, i go to watch artists and then for some reason, it un-watches a day or so later, the only reason why i saw your recent art work was because you liked one of my drawings, so i clicked onto your account and found i wasn't watching you again?? it's don this several times not only with your account but others too - that''s the reason why i didn't see you recent artwork in my notifications, so i'll check again to see if i'm watching you. btw, you're very welcome. i always find your art beautiful.
Well, that is quite extraordinary, to actually Sketch someone you have yet to see or meet ! total coincident? or was it mean't to be? they say all our paths are already planned out, so you never know. It's a shame you didn't actually catch her to talk with her and tell her about your Sketch ! i think she would've been shocked too !
