Description
My fourth cast meme of the year(not counting the mystery cast meme) is one I have wanted to do for a long time. And that is my alltime favorite Don Bluth movie Thumbelina.

As far as anything, no it's is not Don Bluth's perfect film as ther are some plotholes that needed to be filled in, but to me, it is a VAST improvement over the original story as Thumbelina doesn't get as much character development as she did in the movie, she meets the Prince early in the film making their romance more genuine, they reunite her with her mom at the end and the antagonists she encounters has more of a purpose than when they appear for once scene and are never seen again.

Also, the message is sweet where it's "nothing is impossible if you follow your heart," but at the same time, you also take into account what Thumbelina had to go through and learn that the world is out to get you, but you shouldn't let yourself get manipulated by thos who want to use you for personal gain.

This is also my second Don Bluth film that I have done a cast meme for this year as well as the second film I did a cast on that Jodi Benson has done

*In this AU, Aurora is in this, but she has gone married already which leads Stefan and Leah to find Trevor a wife. Here Trevor and Aurora are siblings.

So here is my cast for Thumbelina.

Thumbelina-Carrie White(Carrie)-Thummbelina, our main heroine of the story is a tiny girl who is no bigger than your thumb. Despite being 16 at her "birth", she still has a lot to learn about the outside world despite the love her mother gives her. And on top of that, she feels disheartened because of her size and she feels that she's the only one her size which leads to a lot of insecurity inside of her. One night, she meets with Prince Cornelius and gets to know him...and goes on a date with him. However, just as she was about to set another date with him, she is kidnapped by Mrs. Toadto be a bride to her son Grundel. When Thumbelina escapes, she meets a colorful cast who either have good intentions to help her like Jacquimo or bad characters who want to use her for her own gain and take advantage of her naitivey. However, Thumbelina ends up growing on her journey to learn to take advantage of her own life and stand up to those who tend to make her weak and helpless and that she must make her OWN decisions in life. This is what eventually leads her to eventually find her way back to Cornelius and get her happily ever after.

I hace to admit, finding a character for Thumbelina was really tricky and I mean, really tricky as I was on a two way tie between using Carrie White or Lavinia(My Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss OC). After doing a poll vote, I saw that a lot of people picked Carrie White and I kind of think it works. When you take away the abusive mother and the incident at the prom, Carrie is a shy girl who basically has a lot to learn about the outside world and she feels disheartened due to the fact that a lot of the kids pick on her. However, she does gain a mother figure in Miss Desjardin who tries to encourage her to unloosen herself and gain confidence...which is followed by her discovering that she ahs telekinetic powers. She ends up using it to stand up against her bullies and tyrannical mother even if it cost her prom night, the school and eventually her life. It was also implied in the movies that she has a crush on Tommy Ross and when he invites her to the prom, she is at first hesitant as he is Sue's boyfriend and he was asking her to make her feel better, but she gives him a chance and takes up his offer to go to prom. She ends up having a good time with him and ends up enjoying his company(until the prank which ruined everything).

Oh, and yes, Carrie will sing here as I love the musical version of Carrie and Carrie in my opinion would have a beautiful voice if she sang in the movies.

Prince Cornelius-Trevor(MorganTheFandomGirl 's OC)-Prince Cornelius, Thumbelina's love intrest is a brave, noble and kind fairy who fals in love with THumbelina at fifrst sight and voice, but however, he takes his time to get to know her and they talk without letting her know he's the prince at first. He begins to appreciate Thumbelina for her kindness and how he understand what it's like to dream of meeting someone new(especially since Thumbelina wants to meet someone her size). He offeres to take her for a ride on Buzzbee, his way of taking her on their first date and exchange gifts. Before he returns to his parents, he and Thumbelina agree to meet each other's parents and reveals himself as the prince. However, by the time he arrives the next day, Thumbelina is gone, so he spends the rest of the picture trying to find her and getting bit by bit details from the characters who he asks about her wherabouts. Unfortunately, his parents couldnt hold the frost and during his search, Cornelius falls in to a pond and is frozen in a bloc of ice. If it hadn't been for Beetle cutting the spot he was in and the bugs lighting a fire to free him, he would've died. While Thumbelina escapes the underground(as well as her suitors), Cornelius engages in a duel with Grundel. Finally after all the hardships he endured, he eventually reunites with Thumbelina and marries her.

Since I was using Carrie as Thumbelina, one would expect Tommy Ross to play him considering in teh 1976 version, William Katt played the prince in the Faerie Tale Theatre version. However, while I ship Tommy and Carrie, I have grown to ship MorganTheFandomGirl 's OC Trevor with her. If Trevor was canon in Carrie, I can see these two having a lot in common and being good friends even if Tommy was also a nice guy. Trevor would also appreciate Carreif or her kindess and understand her issues at home as well as wanting to meet someone nice. If Carrie had lived and since Tommy had Sue, Trevor woud be that guy who woudl be there for her and if there were more bullies to ever show up and ridicule her again, Trevor would be there for her and he'd be there to look for her if she ever went missing. I also would see Carrie and Trevor doing Let Me Be Your Wings.

Jacquimo-Sisu(Raya and the Last Dragon)-Jacquimo, the narrator and triagonist of the story is a imiportant character in his own right. Essenetially, he comes into the story when Thumbelina is trapped on the lilypad and trapped. He sets her free and with the help of the jitterbugs, encourages her to follow her heart and find her way home despite the fact that he could've just offered to fly her home(then again, there would be no story like how the Munchkins could've melted the witch then and there). He finds her again after Thumbelina was kicked out of the Beetle Ball and comforts her, promising to find the Vale of the Fairies. Among the delays are the upcoming winter and a thorn in his wing preventing him to fly. When he is found by Thumbelina, he is knocked out inside Mr. Mole's tunnel and near freezing. Thumbelina manages to warm him and pull the thorn out of his wing, but he is still determined to find the Vale of the Fairies despite a despondent Thumbelina trying to convince him otherwise. When he finds her again, she has gained enough confidence to escape an unwanted marriage and the underground world and takes her to the Vale of the Fairies which is frozen due to the winter. Despite this, he encourages her to sing, thus allowing the flowers to grow and to her happiness, Cornelius returns to her. Jacquimo then serves as a guest of honor at Thumbelina and Cornelius's wedding.

I had a hard time finding some good male characters for this role, so I went and genderswapped it with a female character because there was actually a Russian version of the original story that was from 1964 where the Swallow was a girl and I thought that was an interesting idea(they do it all the time to the fieldmouse anyways).

I went with Sisu because Sisu, despite being sassy, is a hopeless idealist who believes in the fact that anybody can be trustful which she has tried to do in thew orld she has been summoned in by Raya. However, this leads to her being naive about the world around her and thus has to deal with the fact with not everyone can be reliable, but that doesn't stop her from trying. Like how Jacquimo is friends with Thumbelina, Sisu is friends with Raya, who was a little more cynical and pessimistic due to her losing her father and trying to find the dragon gems to bring her back, and even goes to great lengths to try and make the world a better place. However, when Sisu is killed, Raya takes it upon herself to find a way to bring her back, even if it means getting her, Noi, Tong, Boun and Namaari to connect the dragon gemm pieces together to stop the Druun. In the end, the world becomes peaceful again, and the dragons return with Raya reuniting with Sisu, still as sassy and optimistic as ever.

Hero the Dog-Courage(Courage the Cowardly Dog)-Hero is Thumbelina and her mom's dog. He only made a small appearence for most of the movie, but he plays his role good for his small screentime. Hero is told to guard Thumbelina while she stays up late so when she meets Cornelius, Hero is suspicious. Thumbelina confirms to him that he is a friend, earning his trust. Later, Hero wakes up and chases after Mrs. Toad when the latter kidnaps Thumbelina, but he fails. He informs Cornelius about what happened and is ordered by Cornelius to look after Thumbelina's mom and let her know everyting will be okay. After Thumbelina's adventure, Hero attends her and Cornelius's wedding.

If I was using Muriel as Thumbelina's mom(see below for more detail), I would figure on using Courage as Hero. Like Hero, Courage is a good dog who plays a pivotal role of guarding after his owners Eustace and Muriel no matter how much abuse he gets from Eustace on a daily basis. Whenever there is a guest who appears at the farmhouse, Courage is suspicious of him/her and is determined to find out if he/she is a friend or foe(90% of the the time it's the latter). Whenever it turns out to be the case of the guest being a foe and Courage realizes both Eustace and Muriel(most of the time Muriel) are in trouble, he would go out of his way to save them. Whenever Muriel is sad, Courage would give her as much comfort as he woudl protect her the same way she adopted him when the Cruel Vetenarian took his biological parents to the moon.

In this, Courage would use his usual shapeshifting to tell Trevor about Carrie.

Buzzbee-Cyclone the Pegasus(Jumanji: The Next Level)-Buzzbee is Cornelius' pet bumblebee and noble steed(which Cornelius's mom Queen Tabitha doesn't like). Buzzbee is devoted to his master. Buzzbee isn't one for words, but his body language and buzzes tell a lot. He immediately liked Thumbelina when Cornelius introduces her to him and he even escorts Thumbelina and Cornelius on their date, but only for it to be cut short when Cornlius's parents come. Throughout the film, Buzzbee helps Cornelius find Thumbelina, but the winter storm eventually seperates them. Buzzbee doesn't show up again until the finale when Thumbelina and Cornelius ride him after their wedding. Cycloen was a minor charaacter in Jumanji 3: The Next Level as an avatar for Bethany and later Milo. Cyclone's major schtick was that he's just a normal horse, but later in the climax, he is hsown to become a pegasus which surprises everyone. He is devoted to his role in Jumanji and when the players need his help, he is there when he needs it. He only appears during the third act when he becomes Bethany's avatar and later Milo's avatar and yet he is ridden on by some of teh players in the game who didn't know he was a pegasus til the climax.

Mother-Muriel Bagge(Courage the Cowardly Dog)-Thumbelina's mom is one of the most underused characters in the movie. THe prologue shows her wanting a child until a good witch comes over with a barley corn for her to plant. From the plant, the woman finds a tiny teenager and adopts her as her own. From her little screentime she has, it's established she's a hardworking farmer who tends to her animals and her dog Hero and as a mom to Thumbelina, she is very kind, patient and tries to give her life's biggest lessons. When she finds out her daughter is missing, she is distraught. However, after tehe events of Thumbelina's adventure, she reunites with her daughter and attends her wedding to Cornelius(which was a VAST improvement over the original story). I know in my Helluvaverse headcanon I had Millie as Carrie's adoptive mom, but I wanted to use an older character for her and not only that but I wanted to have a character that ran a farm and is kind and patient with everyone she's with. So, MUriel is one of those characters that I just love becasuse I love how kind she is to everyone and she treats Courage like a surrogate son than a pet. Every episode, we see how Muriel's love is what gets Courage to go and rescue her every day. Well, mostly every day. There was even a point where even though she disagrees with Eustace, the Queen of the Black Puddle episode shows that she cares for him enough to cry for him when he was missing leading for Courage to go out and find him. Muriel also would be that person who would be good with children considering that she is good to everyone and the ironic part was her being kidn of bratty when she was younger.

Queen Tabitha-Queen Leah(Sleeping Beauty)-Queen Tabitha is Prince Cornelius's mother. Despite her short screentime, what we learn from her character is that Queen Tabitha wants to have her son settle down and get married right away, even having to endure with his teenage rebellion. Nevertheless, she is a good mother to Cornelius and wants to make sure he's safe. When she hears about Thumbelina, she is overjoyed, but after finding out she's captured, she is asked by her son to hold off the frost for as long as she and her husband can. However, she points out to Colbert that they can't delay the frost for more than a day which is easier said than done as we don't see them again until the ending. Luckily, she does appear at the end when Thumbelina and Cornelius reunite and attends their wedding.

Queen Leah didn't have a lot of lines nor screentime, but based on it, what she wants is for a bright future for her daughter Aurora whom had just been born and betrothed to Prince Phillip. When Maleficent places a curse on Aurora, Leah is horrified at this, but goes along with Stefan's plan to burn every spinning wheel. Of course, the Fairies have a better option to raise Aurora in a cottage living like a peasant until the time was right. Leah is unsure, but she and Stefan agree for Aurora's safety. When she hears about Aurora's return, she is overjoyed, but is more overjoyed when afer Maleficent is defeated and the kigndom is awakened along with Aurora, she reunites with her daughter and attends her and Phillip's wedding/dance of love.

King Colbert-King Stefan(Sleeping Beauty)-King Colbert is Prince Cornelius's father. King Stefan had some more screentime, but during his screentime, he is overjoyed when he is blessed with a daughter, Aurora. He arranges a marraige between her and Prince Philip, his best friend King Hubert's son. Maleficent crashes the christening and places as curse on Aurora causing King Stefan to order the guards to seize her, but they fail. He asks the fairies FLora, Fauna and Merriweather to remove the curse, but since it's too powerful, the least Merriwether can do was alter it to sleep until true love's kiss awakens her. But still fearful of his daughter's life, he orders every spinning wheel to be burnt. Of course, the Fairies have a better option to raise Aurora in a cottage living like a peasant until the time was right. Stefan is unsure, but he and Leah agree for Aurora's safety. Throughout the sixteen years, he worries about her, but when he hears about Aurora's return, he is overjoyed, but is more overjoyed when afer Maleficent is defeated and the kigndom is awakened along with Aurora, Stefan reunites with her daughter and attends her and Phillip's wedding/dance of love.

Mrs. Toad-Belle Bottom(Minions 2: The Rise of Gru)-Mama Toad, Grundel's mom is the first antagonist in the movie, but despite her small role(pun intended), she's also one of the reasons THumbelina goes on her adventure in the first place. Upon discovering potential in Thumbelina's voice and also due to her son falling in love with her, Mama Toad sneaks into the middle of the night and kidnaps her. When she wakes up, Mrs. Toad introduces herself and attempts to maniupulate the hapless girl into giving up Cornelius and take a life on the road where she introduces her to the world of stardom. After the performance, Mrs. Toad annouces to Thumbelina that she will be marrying Grundel, much to the girl's displeasure. As the toads leave to get a preacher, Thumbelina manages to escape. Mrs. Toad is never seen again.

I had a HARD time casting this role because I wanted a reptilian villain for this one(as Bowser's technically a turtle) who had a lot of sass and flair as Charo did a good job playing Mrs. Toad. So, when I was looking through villains, I remembered Belle Bottom. While I hated the continuity issues in Minions 2, I really liked the idea of the Vicious Six as antagonists and Belle Bottom had a lot of good antagonist potential even if her role was small so to speak(no literally, the rest of the movie focuses on Gru, Wild KNuckles and the Minions) she had a lot of sass and she proved that while she's not as evil as other villains go, she does show her merit as an villain. Also, I decided to have her in her dragon form here because that transformation scene was so badass.

Grundel Toad-Bowser(The Super Mario Bros. Movie)-Grundel, Mrs. Toad's son is a MASSIVE improvement over the original fairytale as the toad's son in the movie only was either a mention or just had a minor role. Either way, he was never seena gain after the events of Thumbelina escape. In this film however, we get to see the reason WHY he wants Thumbelina for his bride. He fell in love with her while she was on her date with Cornelius and his mom kidnapped her for him. When he finds out she escaped, Grundel, not taking the word "no for an answer, sets out to find her and drag her down the isle himself. So much so that he blackmails Berkley Beetle into working for him by taking his wings and vowing to kill ANYBODY who gets in his way(specifically Cornelius). It's a good thing I finally saw the Super Mario Bros movie because Bowser was a dead ringer for Grundel, with the only exception being that he runs his own kingdom instead of living with his mom. As shown in the movie(like in the games), he has a deep obsession with marrying Peach, but he is also known to not take the word "no" for an answer. When he finds out about Mario, he is hellbent on destroying him and ANYBODY who gets in his way to get in contact with Peach. Personally, I can see him sing his song in this of sorts.

Mozo Toad-Bad Bill(Rango)-Mozo is Grundel younger brother and Mrs. Toad's youngest son. Unlike Grundel who takes on the main antagonist role, he only gets a minor role in the story where he and his brothers and mother perform On the Road and try to convince Thumbelina to join their little troupe. When Mrs. Toad announces her plan to have Thumbelina marry Grundel despite her objections, Mozo and his brother row the boat away. However, when Thumbelina escapes, Gringo and Mozo tease their furiated brother about it with Mozo giving Grundel the lowdown that Thumbelina plans to marry Cornelius and thus has run off. This increases his brother's ire and desire for blood. He and Gringo mock their brother who throws them into the pond even when he storms out, vowing to marry Thumbelina. He is not seen again.

Okay, since I had Bowser who was reptilian, it would only make sense that his other family members would be reptilian too. Mozo was a hard character as I needed a reptile charaacter who had minor screentime, but gained much more advatnage in the plot. Bad Bill appears as the first antagonist for Rango to encounter and is seen as gruff and tough to a T, serving as Mayor Tortoise John's tax collector. However, a hawk came and scares him away revealing him to be a complete coward and despite him helping John hoard all the water out of Dirt, he is shown to have standards such as when Rattlesnake Jake tried to kill Beans for not complying. As the water overfills the bank, Bad Bill and his cronies are flushed away. In the extended ending, he is revealed to have not given up his criminal ways even if he is never seen onscreen. Can see him with a drink as he mocks Bowser about him being humiliated.

Gringo Toad-The Chameleon(TUFF Puppy)-Gringo is Grundel younger brother and Mrs. Toad's middle son. He only gets a minor role in the story where he and his brothers and mother perform On the Road and try to convince Thumbelina to join their little troupe. When Mrs. Toad announces her plan to have Thumbelina marry Grundel despite her objections, Gringo and his brother row the boat away. However, when Thumbelina escapes, Gringo and Mozo tease their furiated brother about it with Gringo saying his only line "Everybody laugh at you." He and Mozo mock their brother who throws them into the pond even when he storms out, vowing to marry Thumbelina. He is not seen again.

Since Gringo had a minor role, I wanted to go with the Chameleon, not only because he's one of my favorite TUFF villains back in the day, but he was also a character where I thought didn't get enough screentime int he later eseasons compared to the first season where he was initially the secondary antagonist. The Chameleon is more or less a comedic villain, and despite his sad story, he ends up having a lot of funny moments for mme even if some of hsi plans go to shit. I also for some reason see him mock Bowser even further by turning into Carrie before he tosses him and Bad Bill into the pond.

Lil' Bee-Abigail and Edgar(Once Upon a Forest)-Lil' Bee is one of the three bug kids who accompany Thumbelina after Thumbelina escapes the toads with Jacquimo and is the leader of the trio. He is among the bugs who notice Thumbelina and Cornelius on their date and give her the forget me not necklace. He later appears whenn he and the other Jitterbugs help Thumbelina and Jacquimo get out of a waterfall. While Jacquimo goes to find Cornelius, Lil Bee, Baby Bug and Gnatty accompany Thumbelina home. When Mr. Beetle comes, he and hte other bugs hide and watch as Thumbelina is taken by the beetle, only to run into Grundel who comes looking for Thumbelina. Lil Bee tries his best to tell Gnatty not to tell, but it's too late. When he and the other bugs find Cornelius trapped in a block of ice, he comes up with the idea to build a fire to free him and tell himwhere Thumbelina is before accompanying him to stall the mob long enough for Thumbelina to escape. He and the others attend Thumbelina and Cornelius' wedding when they reunite. When coming up with the role fo the Jitterbug kids, I was thinking about this very carefully until I decided to rewatch one of my favorite childhood movies Once Upon a Forest. I chose to do the Furling kids.

For Lil' Bee, I decided to go with Abigail AND Edgar sharing the role because they're both the de-facto leader of the group based on teh situation. Whenever there's an idea that would come up, Abigail would be the one to come up with them, but when Abigail is out of commission and takes the more girly role, Edgar would come out of his shell and would take on the role as leader. Even going as a negotiator whenever he and his friends fight. In fact, if it weren't for Edgar taking out the bark during their walk, they would never would have gotten home in time to save Michelle. In this case, I could even see Abigail being the one to come up to build the fire where Edgar would try to shut Russel up when Bowser confronts them.

Gnatty-Russell(Once Upon a Forest)-Gnatty is one of the three bug kids who accompany Thumbelina after Thumbelina escapes the toads with Jacquimo and offer to accompany her home. When Mr. Beetle comes, he and hte other bugs hide and watch as Thumbelina is taken by the beetle, only to run into Grundel who comes looking for Thumbelina. Gnatty is the only one who tells Grundel about Mr. Beetle taking Thumbelina despite his friends' warnings. He also informs Cornelius the same thing when he comes asking where Thumbelina is. When he and the other bugs find Cornelius trapped in a block of ice, they build a fire to free him and tell him where Thumbelina is before accompanying him to stall the mob long enough for Thumbelina to escape. He and the others attend Thumbelina and Cornelius' wedding when they reunite.

Since I used the Furlings as the Jitterbug kids, Russell was kind of the odd one out for Gnatty. Russell is the one who gets himself involved in the dangers they face like when he accidentally went into the road and had to roll into a ball to avoid a car or almost nearly get crushed by a steamroller during their journey. Russell is also one who would accidnetally blab out something that others would find ridiculous or something unless an opportunity woudl be taken. Despite that and his large appitite, Russell is essential to the team when he is the one who comes up with Cornelius's "Flapper-winga-mathing" to take them home and get the lungwort flower from the cliff. Either way, I guess out of fear, he'd accidentally tell Bowser where Carrie is.

Baby Bug-Michelle(Once Upon a Forest)-Baby Bug is one of the three bug kids who accompany Thumbelina after Thumbelina escapes the toads with Jacquimo. She is among the bugs who notice Thumbelina and Cornelius on their date and give her the forget me not necklace. She also asks her mom if Thumbelina will eventually marry Cornelius. Okay, so while Michelle is not a offical member of the Furlings, she still counts as a six ranger due to her minor role and how much importance she is to the kids. Before and after her coma from being poisoned by gas, Michelle was a precoicious little badger who is curious, yet naive about the world around her, asking questions about everything a grown up would. However, she does show her vulnerabilty when danger comes her way. She eventually gets better but has to learn that her parents were killed and thus her uncle Cornelius takes the opportunity to raise her. In the postcredits, she eventually joins the Furlings on their misadventures.

Berkley Beetle-King Dice(The Cuphead Show)-Mr. Beetle, the secondary antagonist of the movie is based ont he actual beetle/mayfly character from the original fairytale. Like the story, he becomes attracted to Thumbelina and just like with the toads, he kidnaps her and takes her to his pad so he can introduce her to his friends, albiet here he has her as his star attraction at the Beetle Ball and dress like a beautiful bug. It wasn't until she accidentally loses her costume in a dance followed by the humiliation she gets when Mr. Beetle decides to dump her on her own. After being confronted by Grundel, he unwittingly becomes his henchman, taking off his wings to make him comply. After the events of the film, he gets his wings back and goes back to his popstar life. So, when coming up with Beetle I had a lot of choices, but thanks to me watching The Cuphead Show, I couldn't help, but think of using King DIce here. Dice, is very charismatic, but also very shallow about who he picks to be on his show Roll the Dice. He becomes hellbent with getting Cuphead in his show for reasons unknown, probably because of how naive he can be. However, he is revealed to be working for the Devil and is his "number one henchman"(next to well...Henchman). After failing to capture Cuphead, he falls into despair, but after Cuphead and Mugman get him out of his funk, he goes back to working for the Devil despite the abuse he got, but on the other hand, he goes back to his TV show hosting life.

Mr. Mole-The Toad(Flushed Away)-Mr. Mole is Ms. Fieldmouse's neighbor and the fifth antagonist of the movie. He is a blind mole who is rich and has some class, but also very much pompous and has quite a reputation around hte parts that wasn't fully explained. To put it bluntly, he is implied to be a serial killer who stuffs bugs and pins them on his walls. Unknown to him, he and Thumbelina don't have a lot in common(she loves the sunshine and he hates it), but aside from that, unlike Grundel who is more of a brute and uses force, Mr. Mole is more about negotion and class to try and get Thumbelina to marry him, more specifically literally buy her from Miss Fieldmouse(who ironically has a crush on him). When Thumbelina rejects him at the altar, he is crushed to where he has to have a mob try to force her back, though he doesn't fight like Grundel did with Cornelius. Mole though gives up on Thumbelina when she escapes and ends up marrying Miss Fieldmouse. So, for the Mole, I figure that if I was goign to have a brute for Grundel, I might as well find someone who has more of a posh upperbringing and more subtle way of disposing his rivals for Mr. Mole. I remembered watching Flushed Away. The Toad was one of my favorite villains because he was posh and classy due to him being the pet of Prince Charles, but he was also able to be a villain who was willing to negotiate by getting his henchmen to do his work for him for the most part. He even had his enemies, the rats iced and stored in a fridge like how Mole had bugs stuffed and pinned on his walls. He even finds himself living underground after he was flushed and while he has some things in common with Roddy, he actually ismore of a shadow archetype to what woudl happen if Roddy didn't get character development. Also, when Toad's plans fail, he has his henchmen take care of it or he'd do it himself out of annoyance.

The irony I put here is that I have a toad being the uppercrust villain instead of a rodent...which moles are ironically.

Ms. Fieldmouse-The Fairy Godmother(Shrek 2)-Miss Fieldmouse, the fourth antagonist of the movie, is the final antagonist Thumbelina encounters through her journey. When winter comes, Thumbelina shelters herseelf in an old shoe, but Miss Fieldmouse takes her into her abode so she won't die of hyperthermia. That's the only good thing about her. However, without Thumbelina knowing, she subtly reveals to the audience that she's only out for herself and doesn't give a care about Thumbelina's feelings. After she reveals about Cornelius's supposed "death", she takes a distraught Thumbelina to see Mr. Mole, her neighbor. When she gets a word alone with miss Fieldmouse, Miss FIeldmouse finds out that Mr. Mole wants to marry Thumbelina(despite the fact that she herself has a crush on him) and will be willing to pay her handsomely. Miss Fieldmouse convinces THumbelina to go through with the marriage. However, her plan is foiled when Thumbelina calls off the wedding before she can say "I do", Grundel and Beetle crashign the ceremony and Thumbelina makes a run for it. She ends up joining the mob to bring Thumbelina back and among those to find out Cornelius is alive and ready to protect his love. While Cornleius and Grundel fight, Miss Fieldmouse leads the others after Thumbelina, only for Thumbelina to chase them away with an avelaunche of jewels. Eventually she marries Mr Mole herself.

Finding a villain for this was a little trickhy, but the one time I was binging the Shrek franchise, I ended up deciding to use the Fairy Godmother who is one of my least favorite characters in teh franchise. Like Miss Fieldmouse, Fairy Godmother is very condensending to those who she helps as she views them as nothing more than pawns for what she wants. When Fiona voices her troubles, it turns out that it's all a ploy to get her to marry Prince Charming even though the latter is already married to Shrek. As such, she is willing to make a deal with anybody so that way she can achieve her goals in getting Charming to woo and marry Fiona and get rid of Shrek once and for all. However, her plans are foiled thanks to Fiona not drinking the tea and King Harold pulling off the biggest sacrifice to stop her from killing Shrek and Fiona. Here, I think she would be attracted to Toad for his more aristocratic way of living.

Oh and one more thing: even if I hated both characters, Fairy Godmother sang a better song. TWO of them.

My fourth cast meme of the year(not counting the mystery cast meme) is one I have wanted to do for a long time. And that is my alltime favorite Don Bluth movie Thumbelina.

As far as anything, no it's is not Don Bluth's perfect film as ther are some plotholes that needed to be filled in, but to me, it is a VAST improvement over the original story as Thumbelina doesn't get as much character development as she did in the movie, she meets the Prince early in the film making their romance more genuine, they reunite her with her mom at the end and the antagonists she encounters has more of a purpose than when they appear for once scene and are never seen again.

Also, the message is sweet where it's "nothing is impossible if you follow your heart," but at the same time, you also take into account what Thumbelina had to go through and learn that the world is out to get you, but you shouldn't let yourself get manipulated by thos who want to use you for personal gain.

This is also my second Don Bluth film that I have done a cast meme for this year as well as the second film I did a cast on that Jodi Benson has done

So here is my cast for Thumbelina.

Thumbelina-Carrie White(Carrie)-Thummbelina, our main heroine of the story is a tiny girl who is no bigger than your thumb. Despite being 16 at her "birth", she still has a lot to learn about the outside world despite the love her mother gives her. And on top of that, she feels disheartened because of her size and she feels that she's the only one her size which leads to a lot of insecurity inside of her. One night, she meets with Prince Cornelius and gets to know him...and goes on a date with him. However, just as she was about to set another date with him, she is kidnapped by Mrs. Toadto be a bride to her son Grundel. When Thumbelina escapes, she meets a colorful cast who either have good intentions to help her like Jacquimo or bad characters who want to use her for her own gain and take advantage of her naitivey. However, Thumbelina ends up growing on her journey to learn to take advantage of her own life and stand up to those who tend to make her weak and helpless and that she must make her OWN decisions in life. This is what eventually leads her to eventually find her way back to Cornelius and get her happily ever after.

I hace to admit, finding a character for Thumbelina was really tricky and I mean, really tricky as I was on a two way tie between using Carrie White or Lavinia(My Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss OC). After doing a poll vote, I saw that a lot of people picked Carrie White and I kind of think it works. When you take away the abusive mother and the incident at the prom, Carrie is a shy girl who basically has a lot to learn about the outside world and she feels disheartened due to the fact that a lot of the kids pick on her. However, she does gain a mother figure in Miss Desjardin who tries to encourage her to unloosen herself and gain confidence...which is followed by her discovering that she ahs telekinetic powers. She ends up using it to stand up against her bullies and tyrannical mother even if it cost her prom night, the school and eventually her life. It was also implied in the movies that she has a crush on Tommy Ross and when he invites her to the prom, she is at first hesitant as he is Sue's boyfriend and he was asking her to make her feel better, but she gives him a chance and takes up his offer to go to prom. She ends up having a good time with him and ends up enjoying his company(until the prank which ruined everything).

Oh, and yes, Carrie will sing here as I love the musical version of Carrie and Carrie in my opinion would have a beautiful voice if she sang in the movies.

Prince Cornelius-Trevor(MorganTheFandomGirl 's OC)-Prince Cornelius, Thumbelina's love intrest is a brave, noble and kind fairy who fals in love with THumbelina at fifrst sight and voice, but however, he takes his time to get to know her and they talk without letting her know he's the prince at first. He begins to appreciate Thumbelina for her kindness and how he understand what it's like to dream of meeting someone new(especially since Thumbelina wants to meet someone her size). He offeres to take her for a ride on Buzzbee, his way of taking her on their first date and exchange gifts. Before he returns to his parents, he and Thumbelina agree to meet each other's parents and reveals himself as the prince. However, by the time he arrives the next day, Thumbelina is gone, so he spends the rest of the picture trying to find her and getting bit by bit details from the characters who he asks about her wherabouts. Unfortunately, his parents couldnt hold the frost and during his search, Cornelius falls in to a pond and is frozen in a bloc of ice. If it hadn't been for Beetle cutting the spot he was in and the bugs lighting a fire to free him, he would've died. While Thumbelina escapes the underground(as well as her suitors), Cornelius engages in a duel with Grundel. Finally after all the hardships he endured, he eventually reunites with Thumbelina and marries her.

Since I was using Carrie as Thumbelina, one would expect Tommy Ross to play him considering in teh 1976 version, William Katt played the prince in the Faerie Tale Theatre version. However, while I ship Tommy and Carrie, I have grown to ship MorganTheFandomGirl 's OC Trevor with her. If Trevor was canon in Carrie, I can see these two having a lot in common and being good friends even if Tommy was also a nice guy. Trevor would also appreciate Carreif or her kindess and understand her issues at home as well as wanting to meet someone nice. If Carrie had lived and since Tommy had Sue, Trevor woud be that guy who woudl be there for her and if there were more bullies to ever show up and ridicule her again, Trevor would be there for her and he'd be there to look for her if she ever went missing. I also would see Carrie and Trevor doing Let Me Be Your Wings.

Jacquimo-Sisu(Raya and the Last Dragon)-Jacquimo, the narrator and triagonist of the story is a imiportant character in his own right. Essenetially, he comes into the story when Thumbelina is trapped on the lilypad and trapped. He sets her free and with the help of the jitterbugs, encourages her to follow her heart and find her way home despite the fact that he could've just offered to fly her home(then again, there would be no story like how the Munchkins could've melted the witch then and there). He finds her again after Thumbelina was kicked out of the Beetle Ball and comforts her, promising to find the Vale of the Fairies. Among the delays are the upcoming winter and a thorn in his wing preventing him to fly. When he is found by Thumbelina, he is knocked out inside Mr. Mole's tunnel and near freezing. Thumbelina manages to warm him and pull the thorn out of his wing, but he is still determined to find the Vale of the Fairies despite a despondent Thumbelina trying to convince him otherwise. When he finds her again, she has gained enough confidence to escape an unwanted marriage and the underground world and takes her to the Vale of the Fairies which is frozen due to the winter. Despite this, he encourages her to sing, thus allowing the flowers to grow and to her happiness, Cornelius returns to her. Jacquimo then serves as a guest of honor at Thumbelina and Cornelius's wedding.

I had a hard time finding some good male characters for this role, so I went and genderswapped it with a female character because there was actually a Russian version of the original story that was from 1964 where the Swallow was a girl and I thought that was an interesting idea(they do it all the time to the fieldmouse anyways).

I went with Sisu because Sisu, despite being sassy, is a hopeless idealist who believes in the fact that anybody can be trustful which she has tried to do in thew orld she has been summoned in by Raya. However, this leads to her being naive about the world around her and thus has to deal with the fact with not everyone can be reliable, but that doesn't stop her from trying. Like how Jacquimo is friends with Thumbelina, Sisu is friends with Raya, who was a little more cynical and pessimistic due to her losing her father and trying to find the dragon gems to bring her back, and even goes to great lengths to try and make the world a better place. However, when Sisu is killed, Raya takes it upon herself to find a way to bring her back, even if it means getting her, Noi, Tong, Boun and Namaari to connect the dragon gemm pieces together to stop the Druun. In the end, the world becomes peaceful again, and the dragons return with Raya reuniting with Sisu, still as sassy and optimistic as ever.

Hero the Dog-Courage(Courage the Cowardly Dog)-Hero is Thumbelina and her mom's dog. He only made a small appearence for most of the movie, but he plays his role good for his small screentime. Hero is told to guard Thumbelina while she stays up late so when she meets Cornelius, Hero is suspicious. Thumbelina confirms to him that he is a friend, earning his trust. Later, Hero wakes up and chases after Mrs. Toad when the latter kidnaps Thumbelina, but he fails. He informs Cornelius about what happened and is ordered by Cornelius to look after Thumbelina's mom and let her know everyting will be okay. After Thumbelina's adventure, Hero attends her and Cornelius's wedding.

If I was using Muriel as Thumbelina's mom(see below for more detail), I would figure on using Courage as Hero. Like Hero, Courage is a good dog who plays a pivotal role of guarding after his owners Eustace and Muriel no matter how much abuse he gets from Eustace on a daily basis. Whenever there is a guest who appears at the farmhouse, Courage is suspicious of him/her and is determined to find out if he/she is a friend or foe(90% of the the time it's the latter). Whenever it turns out to be the case of the guest being a foe and Courage realizes both Eustace and Muriel(most of the time Muriel) are in trouble, he would go out of his way to save them. Whenever Muriel is sad, Courage would give her as much comfort as he woudl protect her the same way she adopted him when the Cruel Vetenarian took his biological parents to the moon.

In this, Courage would use his usual shapeshifting to tell Trevor about Carrie.

Buzzbee-Cyclone the Pegasus(Jumanji: The Next Level)-Buzzbee is Cornelius' pet bumblebee and noble steed(which Cornelius's mom Queen Tabitha doesn't like). Buzzbee is devoted to his master. Buzzbee isn't one for words, but his body language and buzzes tell a lot. He immediately liked Thumbelina when Cornelius introduces her to him and he even escorts Thumbelina and Cornelius on their date, but only for it to be cut short when Cornlius's parents come. Throughout the film, Buzzbee helps Cornelius find Thumbelina, but the winter storm eventually seperates them. Buzzbee doesn't show up again until the finale when Thumbelina and Cornelius ride him after their wedding. Cycloen was a minor charaacter in Jumanji 3: The Next Level as an avatar for Bethany and later Milo. Cyclone's major schtick was that he's just a normal horse, but later in the climax, he is hsown to become a pegasus which surprises everyone. He is devoted to his role in Jumanji and when the players need his help, he is there when he needs it. He only appears during the third act when he becomes Bethany's avatar and later Milo's avatar and yet he is ridden on by some of teh players in the game who didn't know he was a pegasus til the climax.

Mother-Muriel Bagge(Courage the Cowardly Dog)-Thumbelina's mom is one of the most underused characters in the movie. THe prologue shows her wanting a child until a good witch comes over with a barley corn for her to plant. From the plant, the woman finds a tiny teenager and adopts her as her own. From her little screentime she has, it's established she's a hardworking farmer who tends to her animals and her dog Hero and as a mom to Thumbelina, she is very kind, patient and tries to give her life's biggest lessons. When she finds out her daughter is missing, she is distraught. However, after tehe events of Thumbelina's adventure, she reunites with her daughter and attends her wedding to Cornelius(which was a VAST improvement over the original story). I know in my Helluvaverse headcanon I had Millie as Carrie's adoptive mom, but I wanted to use an older character for her and not only that but I wanted to have a character that ran a farm and is kind and patient with everyone she's with. So, MUriel is one of those characters that I just love becasuse I love how kind she is to everyone and she treats Courage like a surrogate son than a pet. Every episode, we see how Muriel's love is what gets Courage to go and rescue her every day. Well, mostly every day. There was even a point where even though she disagrees with Eustace, the Queen of the Black Puddle episode shows that she cares for him enough to cry for him when he was missing leading for Courage to go out and find him. Muriel also would be that person who would be good with children considering that she is good to everyone and the ironic part was her being kidn of bratty when she was younger.

Queen Tabitha-Queen Leah(Sleeping Beauty)-Queen Tabitha is Prince Cornelius's mother. Despite her short screentime, what we learn from her character is that Queen Tabitha wants to have her son settle down and get married right away, even having to endure with his teenage rebellion. Nevertheless, she is a good mother to Cornelius and wants to make sure he's safe. When she hears about Thumbelina, she is overjoyed, but after finding out she's captured, she is asked by her son to hold off the frost for as long as she and her husband can. Luckily, she does appear at the end when Thumbelina and Cornelius reunite and attends their wedding.

Queen Leah didn't have a lot of lines nor screentime, but based on it, what she wants is for a bright future for her daughter Aurora whom had just been born and betrothed to Prince Phillip. When Maleficent places a curse on Aurora, Leah is horrified at this, but goes along with Stefan's plan to burn every spinning wheel. Of course, the Fairies have a better option to raise Aurora in a cottage living like a peasant until the time was right. Leah is unsure, but she and Stefan agree for Aurora's safety. When she hears about Aurora's return, she is overjoyed, but is more overjoyed when afer Maleficent is defeated and the kigndom is awakened along with Aurora, she reunites with her daughter and attends her and Phillip's wedding/dance of love.

He arranges a marraige between her and Prince Philip, his best friend King Hubert's son. Maleficent crashes the christening and places as curse on Aurora causing King Stefan to order the guards to seize her, but they fail. He asks the fairies FLora, Fauna and Merriweather to remove the curse, but since it's too powerful, the least Merriwether can do was alter it to sleep until true love's kiss awakens her. But still fearful of his daughter's life, he orders every spinning wheel to be burnt. Of course, the Fairies have a better option to raise Aurora in a cottage living like a peasant until the time was right. Stefan is unsure, but he and Leah agree for Aurora's safety. Throughout the sixteen years, he worries about her, but when he hears about Aurora's return, he is overjoyed, but is more overjoyed when afer Maleficent is defeated and the kigndom is awakened along with Aurora, Stefan reunites with her daughter and attends her and Phillip's wedding/dance of love.

Mrs. Toad-Belle Bottom(Minions 2: The Rise of Gru)-Mama Toad, Grundel's mom is the first antagonist in the movie, but despite her small role(pun intended), she's also one of the reasons THumbelina goes on her adventure in the first place. Upon discovering potential in Thumbelina's voice and also due to her son falling in love with her, Mama Toad sneaks into the middle of the night and kidnaps her. When she wakes up, Mrs. Toad introduces herself and attempts to maniupulate the hapless girl into giving up Cornelius and take a life on the road where she introduces her to the world of stardom. After the performance, Mrs. Toad annouces to Thumbelina that she will be marrying Grundel, much to the girl's displeasure. As the toads leave to get a preacher, Thumbelina manages to escape. Mrs. Toad is never seen again.

I had a HARD time casting this role because I wanted a reptilian villain for this one(as Bowser's technically a turtle) who had a lot of sass and flair as Charo did a good job playing Mrs. Toad. So, when I was looking through villains, I remembered Belle Bottom. While I hated the continuity issues in Minions 2, I really liked the idea of the Vicious Six as antagonists and Belle Bottom had a lot of good antagonist potential even if her role was small so to speak(no literally, the rest of the movie focuses on Gru, Wild KNuckles and the Minions) she had a lot of sass and she proved that while she's not as evil as other villains go, she does show her merit as an villain. Also, I decided to have her in her dragon form here because that transformation scene was so badass.

Grundel Toad-Bowser(The Super Mario Bros. Movie)-Grundel, Mrs. Toad's son is a MASSIVE improvement over the original fairytale as the toad's son in the movie only was either a mention or just had a minor role. Either way, he was never seena gain after the events of Thumbelina escape. In this film however, we get to see the reason WHY he wants Thumbelina for his bride. He fell in love with her while she was on her date with Cornelius and his mom kidnapped her for him. When he finds out she escaped, Grundel, not taking the word "no for an answer, sets out to find her and drag her down the isle himself. So much so that he blackmails Berkley Beetle into working for him by taking his wings and vowing to kill ANYBODY who gets in his way(specifically Cornelius). It's a good thing I finally saw the Super Mario Bros movie because Bowser was a dead ringer for Grundel, with the only exception being that he runs his own kingdom instead of living with his mom. As shown in the movie(like in the games), he has a deep obsession with marrying Peach, but he is also known to not take the word "no" for an answer. When he finds out about Mario, he is hellbent on destroying him and ANYBODY who gets in his way to get in contact with Peach. Personally, I can see him sing his song in this of sorts.

Mozo Toad-Bad Bill(Rango)-Mozo is Grundel younger brother and Mrs. Toad's youngest son. Unlike Grundel who takes on the main antagonist role, he only gets a minor role in the story where he and his brothers and mother perform On the Road and try to convince Thumbelina to join their little troupe. When Mrs. Toad announces her plan to have Thumbelina marry Grundel despite her objections, Mozo and his brother row the boat away. However, when Thumbelina escapes, Gringo and Mozo tease their furiated brother about it with Mozo giving Grundel the lowdown that Thumbelina plans to marry Cornelius and thus has run off. This increases his brother's ire and desire for blood. He and Gringo mock their brother who throws them into the pond even when he storms out, vowing to marry Thumbelina. He is not seen again.

Okay, since I had Bowser who was reptilian, it would only make sense that his other family members would be reptilian too. Mozo was a hard character as I needed a reptile charaacter who had minor screentime, but gained much more advatnage in the plot. Bad Bill appears as the first antagonist for Rango to encounter and is seen as gruff and tough to a T, serving as Mayor Tortoise John's tax collector. However, a hawk came and scares him away revealing him to be a complete coward and despite him helping John hoard all the water out of Dirt, he is shown to have standards such as when Rattlesnake Jake tried to kill Beans for not complying. As the water overfills the bank, Bad Bill and his cronies are flushed away. In the extended ending, he is revealed to have not given up his criminal ways even if he is never seen onscreen. Can see him with a drink as he mocks Bowser about him being humiliated.

Gringo Toad-The Chameleon(TUFF Puppy)-Gringo is Grundel younger brother and Mrs. Toad's middle son. He only gets a minor role in the story where he and his brothers and mother perform On the Road and try to convince Thumbelina to join their little troupe. When Mrs. Toad announces her plan to have Thumbelina marry Grundel despite her objections, Gringo and his brother row the boat away. However, when Thumbelina escapes, Gringo and Mozo tease their furiated brother about it with Gringo saying his only line "Everybody laugh at you." He and Mozo mock their brother who throws them into the pond even when he storms out, vowing to marry Thumbelina. He is not seen again.

Since Gringo had a minor role, I wanted to go with the Chameleon, not only because he's one of my favorite TUFF villains back in the day, but he was also a character where I thought didn't get enough screentime int he later eseasons compared to the first season where he was initially the secondary antagonist. The Chameleon is more or less a comedic villain, and despite his sad story, he ends up having a lot of funny moments for mme even if some of hsi plans go to shit. I also for some reason see him mock Bowser even further by turning into Carrie before he tosses him and Bad Bill into the pond.

Lil' Bee-Abigail and Edgar(Once Upon a Forest)-Lil' Bee is one of the three bug kids who accompany Thumbelina after Thumbelina escapes the toads with Jacquimo and is the leader of the trio. He is among the bugs who notice Thumbelina and Cornelius on their date and give her the forget me not necklace. He later appears whenn he and the other Jitterbugs help Thumbelina and Jacquimo get out of a waterfall. While Jacquimo goes to find Cornelius, Lil Bee, Baby Bug and Gnatty accompany Thumbelina home. When Mr. Beetle comes, he and hte other bugs hide and watch as Thumbelina is taken by the beetle, only to run into Grundel who comes looking for Thumbelina. Lil Bee tries his best to tell Gnatty not to tell, but it's too late. When he and the other bugs find Cornelius trapped in a block of ice, he comes up with the idea to build a fire to free him and tell himwhere Thumbelina is before accompanying him to stall the mob long enough for Thumbelina to escape. He and the others attend Thumbelina and Cornelius' wedding when they reunite. When coming up with the role fo the Jitterbug kids, I was thinking about this very carefully until I decided to rewatch one of my favorite childhood movies Once Upon a Forest. I chose to do the Furling kids.

For Lil' Bee, I decided to go with Abigail AND Edgar sharing the role because they're both the de-facto leader of the group based on teh situation. Whenever there's an idea that would come up, Abigail would be the one to come up with them, but when Abigail is out of commission and takes the more girly role, Edgar would come out of his shell and would take on the role as leader. Even going as a negotiator whenever he and his friends fight. In fact, if it weren't for Edgar taking out the bark during their walk, they would never would have gotten home in time to save Michelle. In this case, I could even see Abigail being the one to come up to build the fire where Edgar would try to shut Russel up when Bowser confronts them.

Gnatty-Russell(Once Upon a Forest)-Gnatty is one of the three bug kids who accompany Thumbelina after Thumbelina escapes the toads with Jacquimo and offer to accompany her home. When Mr. Beetle comes, he and hte other bugs hide and watch as Thumbelina is taken by the beetle, only to run into Grundel who comes looking for Thumbelina. Gnatty is the only one who tells Grundel about Mr. Beetle taking Thumbelina despite his friends' warnings. He also informs Cornelius the same thing when he comes asking where Thumbelina is. When he and the other bugs find Cornelius trapped in a block of ice, they build a fire to free him and tell him where Thumbelina is before accompanying him to stall the mob long enough for Thumbelina to escape. He and the others attend Thumbelina and Cornelius' wedding when they reunite.

Since I used the Furlings as the Jitterbug kids, Russell was kind of the odd one out for Gnatty. Russell is the one who gets himself involved in the dangers they face like when he accidentally went into the road and had to roll into a ball to avoid a car or almost nearly get crushed by a steamroller during their journey. Russell is also one who would accidnetally blab out something that others would find ridiculous or something unless an opportunity woudl be taken. Despite that and his large appitite, Russell is essential to the team when he is the one who comes up with Cornelius's "Flapper-winga-mathing" to take them home and get the lungwort flower from the cliff. Either way, I guess out of fear, he'd accidentally tell Bowser where Carrie is.

Baby Bug-Michelle(Once Upon a Forest)-Baby Bug is one of the three bug kids who accompany Thumbelina after Thumbelina escapes the toads with Jacquimo. She is among the bugs who notice Thumbelina and Cornelius on their date and give her the forget me not necklace. She also asks her mom if Thumbelina will eventually marry Cornelius. She later appears after the other Jitterbugs help Thumbelina and Jacquimo get out of a waterfall and offer to accompany her home. When Mr. Beetle comes, he and hte other bugs hide and watch as Thumbelina is taken by the beetle, only to run into Grundel who comes looking for Thumbelina. Okay, so while Michelle is not a offical member of the Furlings, she still counts as a six ranger due to her minor role and how much importance she is to the kids. Before and after her coma from being poisoned by gas, Michelle was a precoicious little badger who is curious, yet naive about the world around her, asking questions about everything a grown up would. However, she does show her vulnerabilty when danger comes her way. She eventually gets better but has to learn that her parents were killed and thus her uncle Cornelius takes the opportunity to raise her. In the postcredits, she eventually joins the Furlings on their misadventures.

Berkley Beetle-King Dice(The Cuphead Show)-Mr. Beetle, the secondary antagonist of the movie is based ont he actual beetle/mayfly character from the original fairytale. Like the story, he becomes attracted to Thumbelina and just like with the toads, he kidnaps her and takes her to his pad so he can introduce her to his friends, albiet here he has her as his star attraction at the Beetle Ball and dress like a beautiful bug. It wasn't until she accidentally loses her costume in a dance followed by the humiliation she gets when Mr. Beetle decides to dump her on her own. After being confronted by Grundel, he unwittingly becomes his henchman, taking off his wings to make him comply. After the events of the film, he gets his wings back and goes back to his popstar life. So, when coming up with Beetle I had a lot of choices, but thanks to me watching The Cuphead Show, I couldn't help, but think of using King DIce here. Dice, is very charismatic, but also very shallow about who he picks to be on his show Roll the Dice. He becomes hellbent with getting Cuphead in his show for reasons unknown, probably because of how naive he can be. However, he is revealed to be working for the Devil and is his "number one henchman"(next to well...Henchman). After failing to capture Cuphead, he falls into despair, but after Cuphead and Mugman get him out of his funk, he goes back to working for the Devil despite the abuse he got, but on the other hand, he goes back to his TV show hosting life.

Mr. Mole-The Toad(Flushed Away)-Mr. Mole is Ms. Fieldmouse's neighbor and the fifth antagonist of the movie. He is a blind mole who is rich and has some class, but also very much pompous and has quite a reputation around hte parts that wasn't fully explained. To put it bluntly, he is implied to be a serial killer who stuffs bugs and pins them on his walls. Unknown to him, he and Thumbelina don't have a lot in common(she loves the sunshine and he hates it), but aside from that, unlike Grundel who is more of a brute and uses force, Mr. Mole is more about negotion and class to try and get Thumbelina to marry him, more specifically literally buy her from Miss Fieldmouse(who ironically has a crush on him). When Thumbelina rejects him at the altar, he is crushed to where he has to have a mob try to force her back, though he doesn't fight like Grundel did with Cornelius. Mole though gives up on Thumbelina when she escapes and ends up marrying Miss Fieldmouse. So, for the Mole, I figure that if I was goign to have a brute for Grundel, I might as well find someone who has more of a posh upperbringing and more subtle way of disposing his rivals for Mr. Mole. I remembered watching Flushed Away. The Toad was one of my favorite villains because he was posh and classy due to him being the pet of Prince Charles, but he was also able to be a villain who was willing to negotiate by getting his henchmen to do his work for him for the most part. He even had his enemies, the rats iced and stored in a fridge like how Mole had bugs stuffed and pinned on his walls. He even finds himself living underground after he was flushed and while he has some things in common with Roddy, he actually ismore of a shadow archetype to what woudl happen if Roddy didn't get character development. Also, when Toad's plans fail, he has his henchmen take care of it or he'd do it himself out of annoyance.

The irony I put here is that I have a toad being the uppercrust villain instead of a rodent...which moles are ironically.

Ms. Fieldmouse-The Fairy Godmother(Shrek 2)-Miss Fieldmouse, the fourth antagonist of the movie, is the final antagonist Thumbelina encounters through her journey. When winter comes, Thumbelina shelters herseelf in an old shoe, but Miss Fieldmouse takes her into her abode so she won't die of hyperthermia. That's the only good thing about her. However, without Thumbelina knowing, she subtly reveals to the audience that she's only out for herself and doesn't give a care about Thumbelina's feelings. After she reveals about Cornelius's supposed "death", she takes a distraught Thumbelina to see Mr. Mole, her neighbor. When she gets a word alone with miss Fieldmouse, Miss FIeldmouse finds out that Mr. Mole wants to marry Thumbelina(despite the fact that she herself has a crush on him) and will be willing to pay her handsomely. Miss Fieldmouse convinces THumbelina to go through with the marriage. However, her plan is foiled when Thumbelina calls off the wedding before she can say "I do", Grundel and Beetle crashign the ceremony and Thumbelina makes a run for it. She ends up joining the mob to bring Thumbelina back and among those to find out Cornelius is alive and ready to protect his love. While Cornleius and Grundel fight, Miss Fieldmouse leads the others after Thumbelina, only for Thumbelina to chase them away with an avelaunche of jewels. Eventually she marries Mr Mole herself.

Finding a villain for this was a little trickhy, but the one time I was binging the Shrek franchise, I ended up deciding to use the Fairy Godmother who is one of my least favorite characters in teh franchise. Like Miss Fieldmouse, Fairy Godmother is very condensending to those who she helps as she views them as nothing more than pawns for what she wants. When Fiona voices her troubles, it turns out that it's all a ploy to get her to marry Prince Charming even though the latter is already married to Shrek. As such, she is willing to make a deal with anybody so that way she can achieve her goals in getting Charming to woo and marry Fiona and get rid of Shrek once and for all. However, her plans are foiled thanks to Fiona not drinking the tea and King Harold pulling off the biggest sacrifice to stop her from killing Shrek and Fiona. Here, I think she would be attracted to Toad for his more aristocratic way of living.

Oh and one more thing: even if I hated both characters, Fairy Godmother sang a better song. TWO of them.
