I am so happy with this painting!Ok, this is Eliazeuya from a side story off the first story I ever started writing. Neither is finished but that's beside the point. After being captured by pirates, Elya makes friends with the captain's daughter, Taese, and is the reason Skye ends up on the ship. [link] Elya granted Taese a reward for helping him escape and she wished for a friend/lover. (My merpeople have magic btw)
Elya is one of my favorite origional characters
(I just spent an hour finding them all, and I have over 135 OCs in stories. That doesn't count all the fancharacters I draw/write about.)Painting in acrilic over inked sketch. Oh yeah, I drew this on St. Patricl's Day and have been wanting to paint it ever since. Finally the last two days I woke up early and did some painting before I had to go to classes

he's not a specific species - I was thinking shark for his coloring, then the fins happened the way they felt best, and I added spines for a bit of protection, like a lionfish

The tail is my favorite part it really takes up a lot of space and makes the picture fuller. I don't know it that makes any sense be either way I think it does the picture good. He's expression is nice as well.

Haha yeah, it does take up a lot of space - he wouldn't have fit if his tail wasn't curled up. I do like big fins on my merpeople, so thanks! Glad you like it
