My 2014 in art!
2014 was a good, but tough year for me. I achieved a lot, but it was hard won. Work wise I am really proud I managed to make a living from my art, I traveled round the world, exhibited at conventions, met interesting people, and continued to draw from my heart.
However mental health issues have made it a rough ride.
I've battled some dark things, and done well just to function basically on some days, let alone be productive.
Mental illness has stolen some of this year from me. It's the reason I've been quiet online, the reason there has been less art from me, the reason I haven't replied to messages. I'm really sorry for that, and I hope you understand. I've now got much better at recognising and managing it, so I'm very hopeful for 2015, where I have some exciting things I want to achieve, but I have to look after myself first and foremost.
I'd like to open up and talk more about these things, as I know a lot of other people struggle with similar issues. It's finding the right words... (which is why I draw, hah XD)
But it's also why your support means so much to me. Why your comments make me smile and touch my heart so deeply. While it's hard, it makes me appreciate the good things in this world, and the blessings I have, and it makes me feel connected and empathetic to all the other people just struggling to be human.
It's tradition to do a little game with my yearbook soooo.....
It's all random act of kindness you can do to make someone else smile this year

For everyone: when you hear the negative, self doubting voices in your head - Don't listen to them. You are just as deserving of your kindness as everyone else
I know not everyone will be able to do their assigned month, so you can choose another if your month doesn't suit you

Odd, my birthday is in April and my favorite picture up there is for April! I love the mysterious-y feel to it, and I'm usually one to love big, flashy eyes shining in darkness. Good job on all of them!

Ah, thank you for your kind words sweeite, I think striving to be the 'best' is a lost cause as there will always be someone better, it would drive most people insane XD But to express yourself and touch others through your art is a noble aim, that's certainly what I try and do ^-^

JANUARY
A heartfelt peek at what others seek
Too shy to properly share
Hiding away until some other day
It's hard to express the pressures when they stare
FEBRUARY
Two souls entwined, bound for all time
Survivors of different sorts but the same
An act of kindness so random, but fate makes them tandem
Discovering the power found in the name
MARCH
Touch up her skin revealing the warrior within
Unafraid of the devils and demons about
Her eyes flint with steel, her determination so real
Her whispered warning is a loud as a shout
APRIL
I see you there, viper so fair
Baiting the unwary with words that are succulent venom
You slip into their lives, destroying husbands and wives
Ripping apart all that good, blessed and reknown
MAY
At last it's the sun, the day it is won
We made it at last through the dark
How wonderful the feeling, it's left my mind reeling
Laying my soul bare naked to the world and so stark
JUNE
In minimalist blue, arching eyes staring past you
What does she witness that gives her such pause
Her mind it is veiled and what's more cannot be assailed
So committed is she to her personal cause
JULY
For this we shall wait and gratefully anticipate
What shall be released at your inclination
Whatever the story as usually crafted with glory
Awaiting a perch on the mantle of pure elation
AUGUST
Celestial chariots she seeks, above pollution drenched peaks
Gliding majestically through the galaxy without hope or sorrow
They know not of her plight, as she dreams of their light
But regardless of situation she never gives up there's always tomorrow
SEPTEMBER
It's weakness is strong used for lighting fire and writing song
Even though it is so easily torn
So many reasons for use through the seasons
It can be blended and mended and on the sleeve worn
OCTOBER
The earth has lasted long and is durable, strong
What was broken and bent shall once more be whole
And thought it pains us to see it, we must be active participants
For what we thought lifeless and passive has a soul
NOVEMBER
Without oxygen there can be no flame say men with scientific fame
But ever did they consider the fire that comes from the heart
Ten times as bright and filled with a pure living light
The glory unleashed from such passion is ready to start
DECEMBER
Although not revealed we await with eyes peeled
To see what spectacle thou surely hath for us wrought
A glance, a smile, red hair with a blaze seen for miles
