Description
This a portrait of my family that I drew for my mother for her 50th birthday. I wanted to do something special for her on her big day, since she's done so much for me.
The photo reference I used is a picture of the four of us--my mom, my dad, my brother and I--at my parents' 25th anniversary. The lanterns drawn behind us were hung outside the doorway that led to the reception room.

It took about 35 to 40 hours of work, and about 9 days to complete. The paper size is 16 by 20 inches.

I realize that this has been uploaded unbelievably late. I finished this on August 5th, and surprised her with it on her birthday, August 7th.

Ignore the streaks on the top lantern, please. I took this photo with my crappy Nikon camera, so not only is the quality not good, but there is a reflection due to the frame's glass, too.
