PS: If you want to use the paint bucket on the blank layers outline the area to fill with a small hard pencil brush first. Selecting an area with the lasso then doing select->"fill with x color" (where x is FG or BG) works too (but turn off antialiasing for the lasso option when doing this or you get outlines along the lasso boundaries).

Those white outlines you get when you color the lineart...
That tends to happen with the paint bucket tool but there is a workaround.

If you work in PS or GIMP:
After scanning in and cleaning up the lineart (levels tool works awesome for this)
    Set the layer to multiply
Move that layer to the very top (I usually also name it 'lineart')
Do all your coloring in one or more layers under the lineart layer.
No more white outlines on lineart border!
