Description An order from the delightful S., from Spain, here is a new version of the 9 days queen, the Lady Jane Grey.

Tudor fashion at its top, with loads of beading and detail.

I think the dolls always end up reflecting their built, and this one was the sweetest little thing to make! I think it shows, doesn't it?

She's so pretty! I love Tudor fashion and I like the colours here very much, the light grey and brown with the reddish parts, combined with pearly white and a few golden highlights... lovely.

Soo much bling! Love the grosgrain ribbon and the jewels. One question - how do you end off long strings of beads, like the string around her waist? Is it stitched in anywhere, or do you tie off and hide the ends? And do you use thread?

Ok, let's see if I can make any sense, if not, I'll add it to my video list (that project is not forgotten! I just need time... ).
Yes, I use regular thread.
The beads are stitched to the gown in 3 places: one on each of her "hips" and the bead on the centre from where the bead chain dangles.
I start off by that bead and string the beads that go around the waist (couching the side ones, as I said) until I get back on that first one. Then I pull the thread away from the doll and string more beads as necessary. I then repeat string the bead chain on reverse, skipping a few beads (that's how I make the bead loop in the end).
I usually reverse up until one of her "hips", finally locking the thread on her gown's side seams.
Any sense, or did I make it worse?
