Description Wow, I'm really surprised by how much popularity my last pic of the Torii gained already. To be honest, I really wish other works of mine would have its popularity instead, because I wasn't too proud of this particular piece. Anyway, you gave me the courage to post another photo of the same site I took earlier that evening. So, here it is, enjoy!

Funny, I much prefer this one to the other -- this one "leads" more to the edifice in the distance (lines etc), the other.... Well I had a feeling there was an issue in the balancing... On the first Torii shot the illumination is fantastic, but... Yeah... the position was not as I personally would have expected it...

Anyhoo, this one's a keeper

exactly! that's why I was surprised about the popularity, I mean, it looked kinda flat, no tension in composition.
thanks for the comment

Oooh, the image almost looks like the Eastern version of Venice, Italy.

I don't know why you weren't so proud of the last one. I absolutely loved it. I really hoped that you were able to take pictures of all aspects of Japanese life. You took a picture of Shinto life and it was breath-taking. Like this picture is absolutely beautiful and I really wish I could have seen it myself.

We're not saying that your other pictures aren't as wonderful. I love all of your work but these photo are... There are no words to express it. I think its because of the risk you took to take them that makes them so amazing. It's just another side of you as an artisit.

I think you should take it as a compliant and think of it as growth as an artist. I can't wait to see what else you post. And of course, it's an instant fav.

Really wish I could have been in Japan and seeing the Torii with you.
