RP by me and Earthenwing in which Logan finds Todd in the desert. Poor kid got left there by Magneto after he didn't complete the mission-training thing. Logan's out there doing some SHIELD business and he got stranded too since they thought he was dead. @.@ Cause things went boom. So they're pretty much hiking through the burning . . . wherever they are. XD; I think we put them in the middle east. XD

RP Snippet: (Earthy plays Logan, I play Todd)

Fucking brilliant. If two words could sum up Todd's life right now, those would be the ones. He always seemed to get stuck with the hard missions. Worse, the type of missions that would have been cakewalk for anyone else, but not somehow not him because either his powers made it ten times suckier or he had a serious lack of information and endurance training to be able to do it. Which altogether made him feel like the lamest mutant to exist on the planet. Why'd he have to be amphibian anyway? If he was going to be a freak, then why stop halfway? He should've been a fucking lizard with scales to reflect some of this heat away from him.

Todd had run out of water some miles back and he'd also run out of anything remotely passable as shade. Ahead of him was flat and it went on forever with no end in sight. Behind him it was the same way - he couldn't see the dunes anymore. He couldn't go back anyway - he'd die out here if he just lied in the shade and waited. His best chance was to try to reach the endpoint he'd been assigned to. Todd was pretty sure he was on the right track. He just didn't know how much further it was. He told himself two miles and decided not to count.

Logan was starting to suspect he wasn't alone out here. The wind didn't carry much, and he was too tired to really make the effort, but he'd been hearing noises. There had been voices a ways back, very distant, and the sound of a jet engine. He'd seen it flying near the horizon, a sleek black dart distorted by the heat, but he couldn't detour to investigate. Damned Shield had dumped him out here; he'd been called on a favor and had taken care of the problem, but it had taken longer than they'd thought it would, and they apparently gave him up for dead. Bastards. Fortunately, Logan had looked at a map or two before heading out, and knew that he was only fifteen miles or so from the next little craphole of a town. Damn it. He'd had the sense to snag a canteen off a dead man before he left the base, though.

Zoning out a little, Logan wandered over the next sand dune, thinking of various ways to get back at his friend once he got back to civilization. He almost didn't notice the shape in the sand, but the trail of footprints would have been hard to miss. ....Shit. it wasn't moving. Scowling, Logan jogged over to the body and squatted next to it, giving it a poke.
Much to his surprise, it shifted and lifted its head, blinking in the sun's glare. It rasped something at the ground. ". . . Failed. M'sorry."

Fuck. A kid. Logan recognized him, but the boy was hardly a threat. he growled and dropped the water jug in front of Todd's face.

Todd heard a thud but more importantly the slosh of water and reached forward with blistered fingers. He unscrewed the cap, getting blood all over it and took a gulp. Swallowing was painful and almost made him spit it out, but Todd kept the water in his mouth and choked it down. Water had been an unexpected mercy. He panted and took another mouthful, this one going down easier. "Th-Thanks, dawg," he muttered, not looking up. So long as Gambit or whoever it was was casting a shadow over him, he was going to stay still as long as he could.

Logan watched him for a minute. He looked like shit. "....what are you doing out here?" he growled.

Todd twitched. That wasn't one of Magneto's . . . he twisted his head to look up, shielding the sun out of his eyes. "Uh . . . X-men . . ." he muttered brilliantly. Well fuck. "Ah hell. Magneto didn't say I had to get past nobody."

Logan raised an eyebrow. "Magneto?" That might explain a bit. "....a jet took off about an hour ago. Were you supposed to be on it?"

"Hour ago?" The boy stared at the ground, forcing his immediate panic back down. "I was s-supposed to meet them. Get from one place to . . . over there. I don't . . . I can't, yo."

Logan stood up, brushing his jeans off. "Well I'm going that way." he said, pointing towards town. "Where are you goin?"

It was possible someone was still there waiting for him while the jet dropped off the others. Possible. But Todd really didn't want to put his hopes on it. Magneto wasn't that dependable. Or nice. "I want to go home," he muttered, feeling lame for saying something like that in front of an X-man. "Out of this desert would be nice," he added, trying to cover.

Logan snorted and grabbed the back of Todd's shirt, pulling him up by it and holding him on his feet. "There's a town." he said. "We're still ten miles out.'

Todd nodded, standing again. The water had revived him somewhat. "How long until the sun moves?" he asked, putting an arm over his head. The metal wristguard sewn into his uniform began to heat up again, but his scalp burning hurt worse.

"It's only two oclock." Logan said, picking up the water jug. He started walking.
Todd started after him, stumbling a little but eventually walking. One would think Magneto would have let him take normal clothes all the way out here. But noooo. And he was going to go into town with the damn thing on and he couldn't even take the metal parts off. Sometimes he really hated that man.

Logan glanced back at Todd after a few minutes. He couldn't believe the idiot was out here in spandex and metal. He'd gotten himself one hell of a sunburn, too. Logan snorted and took his hat off, slapping it down on Todd's head. Damned teenagers.
