Funny thing is, a friend of mine actually got the idea for one of his RWBY OCs just from the concept behind this weapon. Well done, sir. Tommy guns are underrated.Β

What kind of role play? If it's real world cosplay-esque stuff, I'd say go for it. General online RP though I'd rather keep the weapons to tell my own tale with in the future :]

...is it alright if I use this weapon for an OC I am making for a RWBY fanfic? In fact could I use like... all of them? Beacuse they are just AWESOME!

I'll have to say no to that request since I plan on using these weapons in upcoming animations and the likes, although there is nothing stopping you from taking the basic ideas and customizing them fro your own OCs! As long as they aren't carbon copies or named the same I will have no problem with them being reinvented.

Hey quick question, where do the bullets go? Because if the axe blades eject from the ammo drum and are placed in the middle of said drum while also taking up a most of the space inside that drum. Where in the hell would the bullets go?

amazing concept, love the aesthetics, the only week part is the way that the axe blades extend.
don't dumb them down, a lot of them are very complex.

True that many are very complex, but many are very simple as well!
Regardless, I appreciate the suggestion - I'm glad you like the idea at least!

Well. i do like the fact that you gain no momentum/velocity when in axe mode. but that could be used as a clever fake out. shooting wildly then switching to axe mode would be a perfect way to distract and kill a grimm.
I personally like this one because you dont get to see tommy guns nowadays. excellent concept my good man

Well I like it!
What do you use to build (and annimate) the weapons you make? 3DsMax? (which is what I have). Can you give any pointers on how to get from concept images to, well... this...?
For reference sake, here is my lead OC's weapon:Β jonarus-drakus.deviantart.com/β¦ (Most of the 'transformation' is pretty obvious I hope - Its in the description a bit too.)
Thanks in advance for any tips you're willing to share,
Β¬JD

Glad you like it!
I use Blender. Not too sure how 3DsMax operates, but I will assume it's relatively similar. In your case, going from concept to 3D should be a lot easier since you already have art of it! You could set it as a background and essentially "trace" the lines, creating mesh in the same shapes as you have in your concept art, and then extrude them out and shape them from there.
One you have the base shape, what I do is separate the moving parts into different objects and move everything into the transformed pose. I try to fit everything naturally where it should go, but recently I've found that using the shape tools (again, assuming 3DsMax is similar to Blender) can save on space. That's what I used for my Axe blades. They appear to be sliding out, when in reality they are actually growing in size!
To animate them at the moment I simply keyframe them (usually from transformed mode back to standard/gun mode) but this leaves them unable to move (can't use them in an actual scene) so I am looking into how to rig them so that they transform in the same way but in any direction/location. Probably something with bones, but I am still investigating. Hoping they stream the animation panels from RTX this year!
Hopefully this helps you somewhat, but if anything is unclear or you need more assistance feel free to PM me and I'll do my best to help!
