Thanks! The leather is £5.99 a metre, the brown fabric is £4.99 a metre, the gold fabric is £6.99 a metre, the gold loops are £2.95 for 50 (I used 44 for this, used them for the back of the corset as well), the gold caps for the hoops are £4.79 for 100, the base of the hair piece was £1.99, the corset boning was 85p per metre, the boning end caps were £1.85 per 50, then everything else is materials I had lying around from old cospays.

So all in all for materials, excluding things I already had and including postage and packing, it came to about £46.

And how many hours/days did you spend on the work?
WOW thanks for the detailled answer. I am want to create a Steampunk suit myself, altough I have no Idea to beginn with ^^".

For not even £50 you created such an awesome dress.... impressive!

Exactly 3 days haha, I wanted to get it finished in time for a convention, and had the weekend and Monday before to make it, as I was busy each evening the week before the con. Usually my cosplays take months and months, but I worked on this one non-stop and was desperate to get it done in time. Though most of that time was spent deciding on a design lol, wrapping fabric round me in various ways until I found a way that looked nice.

I would say either look up how to make a Victorian suit, or buy a suit you like and modify it. You could also get a cheap second hand suit and cut it up to get the pattern, then transfer that pattern onto whatever material you want to make your suit out of.

It probably came to somewhere between £50 and £60 with the cost of the other bits I already had (rhinestones, choker, Worbla, lace, ribbon, etc), but since they're all bought in bulk it's hard to calculate.
