I made this bento bag to fit my new bento. I choose a beautiful Sakura Pattern for the outside, a soft pink for the lining, and a translucent pink ribbon for the pull cord.I followed my friend 's tutorial.
I made it by hand, no machines. I used a chain stitch for a nice stitch on the outside of the bag.
If you would like to purchase a handmade bento bag, I will be making them for $15. They take me a great deal of time to make, and I like the make them well. I can use any pattern for the outside and/or inside. I can also use cord or other material for the pull cord. I make them to custom fit your bento so I will need the width/length/height of your bento. Please Enjoy~!

It's pretty, but it's not the same type as the fabric I used. While brocade is beautiful it tends to stain easy and probably wouldn't be very easy to clean. I would suggest going to a local fabric store and looking for a pretty pattern on normal cotton style cloth. You can throw those in the washing machine if you get spills.

I got it off of ebay actually! I typed in Onigiri Bento and it came up. It's about $20 with shipping and everything. It comes with a band, which gave me a reason to make the bag >W<

XD i see! I like the more mature looking bentos. I don't like having alot of bento that has characters on them or cute little things that obviously make it look like its for someone young. then i can actually take it to work cuz it looks like a very femenine thing.

Yes I know how you feel. I think a couple of "cute" ones are alright, but I don't think all of them should be cutesy. It's nice to have variety! I'm looking at Thermal Bento right now.

ah. well you should make another one when you get the time.
i think that will be my next art project, make a bag in hopes
of getting a bento box or just to carry my markers.

Oh that's alright sweetie, my favorite store closed down last year too. It made me very sad. I have to go to an international market now, but they don't have anything like bento. Which makes me sadder.

I know, there is hope though. It looks like a new Asian Market may be opening up like across the street from my family's business! But they may never actually open... I keep like staring in the windows when I pass by hoping they've made progress. I'm about to like take the project over I'm so eager for them to open. I want to see if they have bento stuff!
