This is an old piece, that I still love so i thought I'd share.

Nell was born without proper working limbs, and she grew up facing the adversity that comes with that challenge. She knew from an early age that she could do some things that other people could not. She could feel the Force inside her, only she didn't have a name for it. She was found by an older jedi knight who decided to take her on as his padawan. He took her to Coruscant and she underwent surgery to get new prosthetic limbs. These limbs are not connected to her body by anything other than electro-magnetism. (I haven't decided if this becomes a hindrance or is an advantage to her - maybe it's both)
