Made with DeviantArt muroSo here's a glimpse of my own take on The Snow Queen. Based on the Inuit goddess of weather and snowfall.

I like the picture, but who says that the CGI "Frozen" cant be good? I still want to see it, hand-drawn or not. It doesnt really matter.

Well, if disney won't make this beautiful story into a hand-drawn animated movie, they should make a movie for one of their characters who needs it the most! Mickey Mouse!! Not a stupid Mickey Mouse Clubhouse movie, one like the three musketeers! And they should put Oswald in it!

That indeed is a nifty looking concept for an take on the Snow Queen fairy tale.
She looks very enchanting.
Plot butchering aside, since we're all used to Disney twisting an original fairy tale for their movies, I agree that they should totally make more traditional animation. It sure is a shame that they didn't went for that direction with Frozen.
It's like the whole company keeps forgetting where it's started with and wasn't the Princess and the frog proof enough that traditional animation wasn't dead?
Anyway awesome work on this and the colors really pop forward.

I'm okay with Disney tweaking the fairytales to make some of them more kid friendly, but the Snow Queen synopsis they came up with isn't even remotely close to the real story XP

I don't mind it either, for some reason the tweaks and twists they put in work because they keep most of the fairytale in tact.
With the plot butchering I mean how they seem to stray with this movie from what they used to do.
Taking the grand lines of an fairy tale and twist it lightly with a new look or a different plot but keeping the basics there.
But this... this seems like a whole new story on it's own with no real traces back to the original fairy tale.

I completely agree with you. I for one love hand-drawn animation and nearly jumped up and down when I heard they were going to do the Snow Queen. I read the premise to "Frozen" and wanted to throw things. That is not the fairy tale I know and love and they've gone with CGI. This makes me not want to spend money for it and write John Lasseter angry letters. On the other hand, I love your idea for her. Very enchanting.

I TRIED to get through to the studio and tell them my idea long before these decisions were made, but they wouldn't listen.
The Snow Queen you see here is indeed enchanting and not nearly as villainous as most films make her out to be. The story is truer to the original too, only it's set in modern-day Alaska and revolves around the Inuit mythology therein. And there's even an antagonist that makes Mor'du look like a Bearenstein Bear.

That actually sounds interesting. I always like new twists on old fairy tales as long as the essence of the original is still there. Disney did a good job with Beauty and the Beast, the Little Mermaid, and Aladdin. I even liked how they did Rapunzel and the Princess and the Frog even if both were further off the original tale than previous movies, the main elements were still there. I'm not sure with Frozen though. I guess we'll see.

I say we boycott it. You know how movies are often judged by their opening week or weekend turnout? Anyone else who's disappointed in the CGI thing, do NOT see it the first few weeks it's in theaters.

Yes. And we're not saying you can't see the movie at all. Just refrain from seeing it the first week or so. Let them flounder a bit and see we don't take kindly to broken promises from studios.
