Description
I wanted to try a different kinda coloring for this one, I didnt just get bored...well ok a tad bit.Boring background but its really hot right now a I think ill go have some ice-cream.
Kay enough of the useless ramble...moving on...
This was for the contest:
Draw a boss from any of the games.
Red as got to be my fave.
He looks cool an was way fun to beat.
I'm shure Cynder wouldve been my fave but I havnt gotten up to her in the game yet.

I had to defeat Red three times in Spyro: AHT for the Xbox. And he is cool I might add.

Yay Red!
I see you're requesting critique, so allow me to do the honors.
The snout's angle seems off. The front where the lip meets the lower jaw seems much further turned to the left than the rest of the head. This is from the lines you've draw there, I'm pretty sure, without them the illusion would have been a bit more accurate.
His face could be a bit more angular to fit the shape of his right eye (left to use) as it looks like its just wrapping around his head like the rest of the colour.
Both hands seem a smidge off angled, however they're probably the most accurate portion of the drawing. The fingers look just a bit wonky, but otherwise good job on the one clutching the staff.
The horns look good, great reflective light on the back. Only issue with the rest of the shading is it makes it look flat and you loose the effect that they are rounded. The ridges look square, can you see it? That's easily fixed if you follow the curse of the form when you do the shading. So next time try following the outer line to creates that sense of volume.
The belly scales also seem slightly off in angle. Try to again use your line to create a sense of mass to make it look a bit more bulky. For example, the lines indicating the stomach scales all curve pretty much the same way. You should experiment a few times and try to have those lines follow the actual curves and dips of the form. So near the center of his belly where it would be closer to the viewer, the lines would be straighter. The lines below and above would then curve in and out to follow the form again. (if that made ANY sense lol! I'll scribble you an example if you want further clarification on that)
OKAY THIS IS GETTING LONG.
Cut to the rest: overall you captured Red very well. The face area in general, both expression and spines/horns/etc is easily the strongest part of the piece! Well done! And I hope my crits help you!
