Done in 06This is an ooooold sketch. I believe I have it in my gallery. Well, again I took my laptop to work and had soem freetime so decided to color it. I'm actually really happy with the turn out. I really like Goku

yeah, there's a chinese cartoon version of it and Goku looks really cute in both saiyuki and the cartoon. Β Their personalities are like, almost the same, even though Goku wasn't supposed to be greedy XD I just don't really like the DBZ goku, it's just overdoing it a bit...?

So... this is the original look of Son Goku, unlike the other Goku from "Dragon Ball". He almost resembled himself with his clothing and the staff to Sun Wukong, right. Nice work on that digital artwork you've made.

It's Goku from Saiyuki.
There are actually many versions of "Goku". Goku is a very famous legendary character portrayed in many variations over the years. The Very first Goku comes from "Journey to the West", a Chinese novel over several centuries old. <3

It did! It actually has temples dedicated to it as the base for the monk actually existed in real life! <3 It's very interesting and you should see it. Goku-the monkey born from a rock turned into a god but was punished by Buddha and trapped for 500 years. He then reformed when Sanzo-the monk(from real history and credited with the current age of Buddhism) set him free.
This bit of the story is actually seen in Dragon Ball when Goku is a baby he's awful to the monk who finds him until he gets hit on the head(falling down into a mountain rock) and becoming good! <3
xD I'm a bit of a Journey to the West nut so I've seen almost every version available. It's a very interesting tale that several manga/anime/live action/musicals/t.v. series and movies have all been based off of! Along with tons of artwork and even statues!
The story of the Goku is known well throughout China India and Japan and all have various differences and takes on it.
