Wow, I didn't know Janice was kinda aro, that's awesome! Especially since aces and aros don't always get the most representation. It took me ages to realize I was ace, and a bit longer to figure out I was on the aro spectrum, so I'm glad there's a popular character with at least some aro qualities.

yesss aro Janice!!! This is so so real tho. Without the internet, it will probably take a long time for Janice to figure out that she doesn't experience romantic attraction. Heck, even with the internet, it took me a heck of a long time to figure out i was ace. i had no idea that aesthetic attraction and sexual attraction were different things until tumblr.
like the fact that people look at other people and go "wow holy shit i wanna make out with them" is still so baffling to me?? like what. im still not sure if books/movies/ ect. are exaggerating over the intensity of sexual feelings, and i will probably never know (which is perfectly fine with me lol).

I understand now why Janice looked so surprised and shocked when silo said he loved her for the first time, with the pink glowy background...
It's sad that she tricked herself into believing she was in love with silo when those feelings were something else.
However, I think it does in fact suit her character to be Aromantic.

A lot of people expressed confusion over the idea of Janice being aromantic, so i'll just copy-paste my reply to someone here:
Janice being aromantic is kinda a nebulous thing as I only thought about the possibility when i was like, halfway through the comic, but it feels very true to Janice's character. Her feelings toward Silo amounted to "he's cute and nice and i like to have him around" as opposed to the I WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY ALL THE TIME ALWAYS YOU ARE THE MOST PERFECT type feelings generally associated with romantic love (or at least...thats what i feel about my partner), but she kind of assumed that must be romo feelings, i guess? I'm not sure if Janice herself knows she's aro at this point. I wish there were a way I could make it clearer in-comic, and I'm trying my best now, but as I said...I didn't think about it till like halfway through the comic so I didn't have time to full integrate it.
I'll also add that I feel iffy about claiming her as aro when I can't make it explicitly clear in the comic she is, but I do feel that she is. (of course, death of the author is a thing, so alternate readings are valid) Two-Faced doesn't have very good representation of folks on the aromantic (and asexual) spectrum, sadly. I'm hoping to do better with that in my future works.

Ahh... ok... see, being aromantic always sort of confused me. For example: my brother isn't into a romantic relationship right now even though he's at the age where most people really get into dating for the first time, but I wouldn't really call him aromantic. I dunno. I guess I always sort of figured that people who weren't into a relationship would just call it "not into a relationship"? But there's a word for almost everything nowadays, so whatever floats anyone's boat.

Aromantic means no romantic attraction, and I'm pretty sure it means no desire for romantic relationships. There is, however, a term for people who wish to be in a romantic relationship while also feeling aromantic, it's "cupioromantic".

cupioromantic is a pretty good description of Janice, i think. Also, she's not asexual, so her relationship with Silo was based on psychical/sexual attraction as well
