Description

[1436 x 1653 - Zoom all the way in for readability]

I saw that someone (I won't embarrass them by tagging them) put "Language Acquisition" in their "Xeloria" favorites folder. This is good. We should all have a Xeloria favorites folder.

Gree, the caretaker AI seen in one scene in "Moist Effect," is the Xeloria shown in "Language Acquisition," which is the first panel of the sequence here. "Moist Effect" is not for everybody, and some bits of it feel like misfires even to me, but Gree is one part of it that I love unreservedly. There's this idea that these sentient computers have to be all poker face and no personality. I blame HAL 9000 for this, and the fact that the people making digital assistants are worried that if Siri or Cortana has any kind of flavor text, some customers with a stick up their ass will get offended. Anyway, so my thinking is, what if there was this centuries-old  AI sitting around guarding a dead facility, and she was kind of a bubbly ditz?

And if this scene inspires you to go read "Moist Effect," my somewhat smutty riff on a series of computer games which shall not be named here, so be it.
