Description Another piece for AusMLP's Parasol Army
This was originally a pegasus (Aus gave me the bait, I'm sure she could tell you who it originally was) that Aus wanted the wings removed on and turned into an alternate pose Parasol. Without her wings and while the apoxie was drying I was staring at her, and got inspired to try something a bit merry go roundy - like the G1s I gave her G1 styled hair dress bits, but I wanted it to be more inspired by the idea of the G1 merry go rounds rather than one styled like it... hopefully I achieved my goal ^.^

Originally the saddle was going to be done completely in glitter (but we'll get to that) with a sparkly swarovski edge instead of tassles. The glitter though... did not go according to plan. Once I got it on and sealed, I went to work on it some more a few days later and the whole glitter layer just peeled right off. Frustrated, cursing and a whole lotta angry followed
Jupi suggested trying metallic paint which led me to thinking about metallics... and I had the idea to try something new with the saddle after I did some researching and looking for ideas. So the main part of the saddle is sculpted and had a layer of metallic foil over the top of that(which took several attempts, and even now isn't perfect - but after using about 3 metres of foil on my various attempts to get things to work properly, I decided to work with what I had as it was pretty close). I'm looking forward to trying this technique again, because despite the difficulties working with it, I really love the effect (which is terribly hard to photograph, thus my pics which were taken in 4 diferent kinds of light to try and capture the sparkle.)
The edging is 15 different colours of swarovski crystals in 2 different sizes - the larger sizes are as close to Parasol's hair colours as I could eyeball and each of the smaller crystals are different shades of those colours.
I also dotted some crystals around Parasol's saddle, and did her symbols in glitter.

Painted and airbrushed with artist grade acrylics and irridescent highlights, sealed with dullcote, modpodge gloss and triple thick while all sculpting is done with Magic Sculpt. Hair is Heart throb, Candytuft, Watermelon Martini, Golden delicious, lemon drop, passionfruit, lucky clover, poison ivy, sour apple martini, atomic turquoise, bobby blue and forget me not all from dollyhair.
